Farmer Wants a Wife

One would think the reunion will be on 28 May.

Scuffle in the city

Ladies farewell the farms and face the truth

Tonight on Farmer Wants A Wife, the ladies farewelled the farms and frocked up for their final festivities on Channel 7 and 7plus.

As the sun rose on the final day of farm stays, Farmer Matt shared some life-changing news: “I’ve recently been looking at jobs within the Department of Ag over in Canberra. I will be leaving the farm and moving to Canberra.”

While Annabelle received the news positively, Olivia’s silence left the farmer wondering if she was on board with his choice.

To celebrate the end of their time in the country, the farmers and the ladies gathered for one final get-together in the glitz and glamour of Sydney, with host Samantha Armytage instructing: “If you have questions or any lingering concerns, do not go home tonight without getting the answers you need.”

Taking Sam’s advice onboard, Annabelle started by confronting Olivia about spending alone time with Matt during the farm stay, and didn’t take it lightly when Olivia beat around the bush instead of coming clean.

Annabelle then called Matt out for giving in to Olivia’s tantrums despite the fact he had shared a solo date with her: “You were comforting Olivia and I was in the room like, well, what are you comforting her for? You’ve kissed me, we’ve had a connection. Are you apologising? That was probably a pretty low act,” she said.

Matt realised that his relationship with Annabelle has been tainted by that before confessing: “It makes me feel really shit, because I’ve missed it and I haven’t noticed it.”

Feeling uneasy about the way the conversation unfolded, Olivia stormed out of the dinner venue. After some contemplation, Matt decided to follow her, but admitted: “I feel like the reoccurring pattern of me making sure Olivia’s okay really does piss off Annabelle.”

With both his ladies upset, Matt hoped that tonight “hasn’t put a nail in the coffin on both relationships at the same time”.

Sunday night on Farmer Wants A Wife: Farmers David and Matt visit the homes of their final two ladies, as they prepare to decide who they want to share the rest of their lives with.

Two farmers find love

Bush fairy-tale comes true for David and Matt

The road to real love has had a happy ending for Farmers David and Matt, who followed their hearts in tonight’s Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Before their final decisions were made, the farmers headed to their ladies’ hometowns for one last chance to connect with them and meet their families.

Farmer Matt had one concern in mind as he arrived on the NSW Central Coast to meet Annabelle’s family: “Annabelle doesn’t feel as comfortable opening up straight away and does bottle her emotions up a little bit. I think open communication and the ability to tell me how she’s feeling in the moment is really important.”

Over in Brisbane, Emily’s hometown, Farmer David spent the afternoon answering some hard-hitting questions as Emily’s mum thought finding out “where David actually is at this point in his life is really important”.

While lunching with Olivia’s family at their Wollongong family home, Farmer Matt got a harsh reality check when Olivia mentioned that she planned to visit him during the weekends. Matt, who thought Olivia was happy to make the move, was shocked: “If we had to do it long distance, I think that would definitely put a big strain on the relationship.”

Farmer David was vetted by Lorelei’s parents and her two brothers at their family home in Newcastle, following which her brother Harrison said: “I think this may be the happiest I’ve seen Lorelei with a partner before.”

After an epic search to find love, it was time for the farmers to make the ultimate decision.

Although wary of whether long distance would work with Olivia, Matt couldn’t deny their connection. Saying all his worries and nerves disappeared looking into her ocean-blue eyes, Matt declared his love: “I think I’ve known for a while that I have fallen in love with you, and I’m really glad I finally get to say it.”

Farmer David was torn between Lorelei and Emily: “I’m faced with the situation where I can see a pretty happy future with both the girls.” After weighing down his feelings for both the ladies, David realised that his heart belonged with Emily.

Sunday night on Farmer Wants A Wife: Farmers Brad and Brenton visit their final two ladies in their hometowns before making the biggest decision of their lives.

Love conquers all

Farmers Brad and Brenton end their journey

The remaining two farmers, Brad and Brenton, found their happily ever after in tonight’s Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus.

The farmers headed to the hometowns of their ladies for one last chance to connect with them and meet their families before they made their final decisions.

Farmer Brad was vetted by Morgan’s family at their home in Newcastle, NSW, where her mother Angie said: “I can just tell by looking at her that she’s happy, which is great. But I wanted to see how they were going to make their relationship work.”

An afternoon with Sophie’s parents and her two grannies in Victoria’s Hamilton did not allay Brenton’s fears about a future with her. Sophie’s mum, Robyn, confirmed his fears: “It’s all bells and whistles at the moment but to be married to a farmer, it’s a different world. Reality will set in.”

Having seen how close-knit Clare’s family was in Tamworth, NSW, Farmer Brad wasn’t sure if her feelings for him were strong enough against the pull of her family. “Clare’s family’s quite nervous about her moving to the farm. It plays on my mind about falling in love again and it not working. My biggest fear is being heartbroken again,” he said.

Farmer Brenton arrived in Rachel’s hometown, Perth, with one concern: “I can definitely see a future with Rachel, but she hasn’t told me how she feels and it definitely is weighing in the back of my mind.”

Reaching the final decision was harder for Farmer Brenton than he thought. “It’s horrible to make someone feel like that. To actually break a girl’s heart. I’ve never been in that position before,” a teary-eyed Brenton said after telling Rachel that she wasn’t the one.

He then confessed to Sophie: “I’ve never felt like this with anyone, and we’ve so many memories and I can’t wait to take you back to the farm. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met. I’m falling in love with you.”

After friend-zoning Morgan, Farmer Brad declared his love for Clare: “We’re cut from the same cloth. We love each other. Let’s make it work. Pack your horses, pack your dogs.”

Tomorrow night, don’t miss the heart-warming Farmer Wants A Wife Reunion as the farmers and their partners reunite one last time to reflect on their journeys, plus co-host Natalie Gruzlewski has a special surprise in store.
