DTV Channel Names

There’s very little to the discussion, WIN would maintain the station as a Ten affiliate with WIN, BOLD and PEACH. A reach of over 1 million viewers in NNSW makes the station more attractive to keep unless someone wants to pay over what WIN paid for it from Southern Cross to purchase it.

I think the VAST channel layout is better then FTA IMO.

I agree it’s better with the ABC HD and SBS HD channel placements. But the commercial channels are in really old positions and to be honest I’d much prefer to have access to normal terrestrial FTA over VAST.

Yes, total lack of HD (except WIN) from commercial networks is the big drawback.

Seeing most the local news bulletins would be a nice novelty to have for a while and occasionally for when they revamp the presentation.

And I think I’d get sick of the constant ads for livestock supplements and heavy duty tow bars before long!

So… 9Rush is another channel NOT coming to Regional Australia?

Honestly, they put these channels on the app and on FTA.

It’s available on 9Now as discussed multiple times in the 9Rush thread.

I much prefer watching over the air, streaming is always prone to buffering and glitching.

@AustralianAerial I’m aware 9Rush is on the app but (I personally think) 9Rush and 9Life should be only APP only channels and Nine should keep the the 3 primary channels and 1 HD channel.

Why?

IT worked for so long and it would be less confusing for people (older people)

There’s a very good reason why Nine and Seven now have two HD channels.

They honestly need to change 9Gem to 9GemHD and 7mate to 7mate HD full on soon.

They both are HD now though?

I think he means excluding the SD Channels

I was going through some old electronics i found when i was at my grandparents house months ago, and in the pile of stuff i found a DVB STB from 2009 give or take.
So i plugged it into one of my tv’s (I DIDN’T PLUG THE ANTENNA IN!!) and it had the DTV Channels from that era. From what they told me (my grandparents) they only used it for a couple of months with the old analog tv they had before they got a Digital Ready TV.

Anyway here’s the list…

2 ABC1
3 SBS ONE
5 SC10 Newcastle
6 PRIME Newcastle
8 NBN Digital Newcastle
21 ABC1
22 ABC2
23 ABC3
24 ABC News 24
30 SBS HD
32 SBS TWO
33 SBS 3
34 SBS 4
36 SBS Radio 1
37 SBS Radio 2
50 One HD Newcastle
55 SC Ten
60 PRIME HD
61 PRIME View 1
62 7TWO on PRIME
63 7mate on PRIME
80 NBN HD Newcastle

Would’ve been from the end of 2010 at the earliest given that 7mate is tuned in.

I’d say that “Late 2010” is just about the right timeframe, given that Eleven via SC10 launched on the same day (11/1/2011) as Eleven in the metro markets via Network Ten.

But GEM isn’t scanned in. When did NBN launch it?
