Same date as Nine & WIN, if I’m not mistaken.
Come to think of it, wasn’t there a brief period in time when Seven (and perhaps Prime) changed the LCN name of 73 in the lead-up to 7mate’s launch while the HD channel remained on-air?

Would anyone happen to know what the Ballarat Region DTV Channel Names were in Early 2012?
i think since i live int he ballarat region .it was now i could be wrong since your asking 2012 was sbs melbourne , abc melbourne , prime 7 ballarat as it its now , 7 mate and 7 two win hd western vic as it is now and sc10 ballarat or western vic ( i forget which one) 11 and one hd
SC10 would have been “SC10 Ballarat”
PRIME7 would have been PRIME7 Ballarat
WIN ? Not exactly sure.
Quick Question: would anyone have known what the DTV names where in the start of Digital Television back in 2001?
Be curious to know what would have displayed on a digital tv then.
my first set top box (Zinwell) that I got in 2002 didn’t even use LCNs. You could only select channels from a drop down list.
I don’t recall actual channel names but I think it was just “7 Digital”, “9 Digital”, “Ten Digital”, “ABC TV Melbourne”… not all that surprising.
And the only multi-channels then were ABC Kids and Fly TV. I don’t think SBS had even launched the World News Channel then.
I’d be willing to guess that the names back then would’ve been exactly the same (or at least very similar) to what they were when I first upgraded to Digital TV in mid-2007. From memory, the names of the main SD channels from each network at that time were…
2: ABC-TV Sydney
3: SBS Digital
7: 7 Digital
9: Nine Digital
10: Ten Digital
…or something among those lines.
Seven had several LCNs pointing to the same main channel in anticipation of multi-channeling.
7 Digital 1
7 Digital 2 etc.
Prime did the same thing
Wasn’t that just for multi views for the Olympics or something for different camera angles?
Seven were always interested in multi-channeling, but they weren’t really interested in High Definition.
They did have more HD breakaway programming than other networks before secondary channels were allowed, but since, yes, they were slow to use HD for AFL, and were the last commercial network to put their main channel in full time HD nationally.
Ten had Ten 1, 2 and 3 for different camera angles and commentary - used during Bathurst. Didn’t Seven have colours at one point?
There has been some changes to the Darwin LCN/DTV names.
I like that 10 LCN configuration.
Though I’d make 1 and 10 point to HD, SD on 11.
Bold, Peach etc from 12 onwards as above.
Who supplies First Nations? Never heard of it before.
Good move. Hope they do this elsewhere too.
