Slightly annoyed that we’ve had another year-long hiatus especially with a still-new Doctor.

Don’t they usually have one season every year?
The last season finished in December 2018. It’s only a bit longer than usual.
Post production takes time, especially with special effects associated with each episode.

Jodie is a guest on this week’s episode of The Graham Norton Show, which airs this Sunday (December 8) on 10.
I hope the writing is better quality this season. Jodie deserves a fair go!
As revealed on this week’s Graham Norton Show, the new season starts with a two-part episode on January 1 and January 5, 2020 in Britain. This translates to January 2 and 6 in Australia, therefore the ABC should again air the season on Mondays apart from episode 1.

The Thirteenth Doctor is in her TARDIS on her way back to ABC for a thrilling 10-part series which will land on Thursday January 2nd at 6.55am (AEDT) on ABC iview, straight after the UK broadcast, and 7.30pm on ABC.
Subsequent episodes will be available on ABC iview straight after the UK broadcast and on ABC on Thursdays (time TBC).
Starting with a blockbuster action packed two-part episode entitled Spyfall, the Thirteenth Doctor is well and truly back with a bang. As Jodie Whittaker takes charge of the TARDIS once again, the Doctor will be joined by her friends Tosin Cole (Ryan), Mandip Gill (Yaz) and Bradley Walsh (Graham). The twelfth series will also welcome a host of famous faces including Stephen Fry, Sir Lenny Henry CBE, Robert Glenister and Goran Višnjić to name just a few.
Add to that some familiar faces including the Judoon and the Cybermen, series twelve is set to be an epic action-packed rollercoaster for everyone, just don’t stray too far from behind the sofa…
Plus, Rove McManus and his team of super fans are also back with Whovians, the show that asks the what, where and why of Who, returning to ABC COMEDY on Thursday 9th January (time TBC).
Airing Thursday nights straight after the ABC’s broadcast of Doctor Who, Rove will be joined again by Tegan Higginbotham, Steven O’Donnell, Justin Hamilton and guests.

Seems that the ABC wants to keep a consistant timeslot for the new season, but the three-day gap between the iView availability and TV broadcast could affect the show’s TV ratings.

ABC has advised the timeslot for the new series of Dr Who:
After the first episode (Thursday 2 January 7:30 pm), subsequent episodes will be available on ABC iview straight after the UK broadcast and on ABC on Thursdays at 8pm.
Whovians has been given the timeslot of 9pm Thursdays on ABC Comedy
Not a good start for the new season in UK. The episode only got 4.96 million viewers on BBC One.
I wouldn’t really call a 700k drop, “near million” personally but obviously it doesn’t look like a good headline for the show.
It also doesn’t help that they shifted it from its traditional Saturday night slot to Sundays last year.
The episode was also a massive pile of poop, which didn’t help.
