That’s why he’s apologising. He had complaints that putting that the flash of that image in the trailer was a spoiler.

The series 13 premiere attracted 4.43 million viewers on BBC One on Sunday evening, lower than series 12 which got 4.88 million.

Is Doctor Who falling out of favor?

I think the fact that the BBC has panicked and brought back Russell T Davies to showrun says everything about how successful the current era has been.

I really struggled with this first episode of this season. It’s like they’ve run six different storylines alongside each other, not leaving much time to explore any in depth yet. I guess it’s going to be like this for the whole six episode run so it’s going to be hard work staying interested.

Swarm is an old enemy of The Doctor, who she can’t remember after her memory wipe by the Time Lord Division, new companion Dan Lewis seems to be bonded to Karvanista the dog alien, the Weeping Angel
and Claire who has met The Doctor and Yaz in the future, two Sontarans young and old, Joseph Williamson constructs tunnels under Liverpool in 1820, The Flux is responsible for the end of the Universe.

Agreed, it’s like they’ve built a timey-wimey food mixer, bolted on a vacuum cleaner and sucked in random enemies. Hopefully something decent pans out in the end.

As for the rest of your post, perhaps you blur it? At least for a week or something?

I don’t see why. It screened on ABC TV Plus on Monday night so it’s not a spoiler. We’re allowed to talk about shows here after the screen.

If anyone manually sets their PVR to record, tomorrow’s episode of Dr Who runs longer than previously advertised, finishing on ABC TV Plus at 8:35pm.

Really struggling to stay interested in this season with the chopping and changing across many different storylines all thrown together. I’m a fan, so will stick with it, at least to see where it ends up. But I can imagine a lot viewers won’t bother and they are unlikely to attract any new viewers.

I hope they go back to the episodic format next season.

Russell T Davies has confirmed his first episodes will go to air in November 2023

RTD has already started writing, with his series to air in 2 years time.

Chibnall meanwhile, did his first Series 11 and needed a hiatus, even though there’d been a hiatus just before between Series 9 and 10.

Priorities :joy:

I was left so confused with the way all the storylines were cobbled together over six episodes, I was almost hoping they would just forget the whole mess and move on.

I still don’t understand the wisdom of ditching six episodic stories in favour of many story arcs across six episodes.

The last time they tried something like this was back in 1986 with Trial of a Time Lord.
