Why doesn’t he just watch those in the first place?
Yeah, Simpsons World gives you the option at least. Disney+ should have that option too hopefully
Although I think DVDs are still the only way to watch Simpsons with Dolby 5.1 surround. ![]()
Is it such a crime for Disney to leave them in their original aspect ratio?
How do we know The Simpsons will be licensed globally?
We know (thanks to the AFR) that The Simpsons won’t be available on Disney+ in Australia (at least when it launches)
And this from that AFR article:
Foxtel and Stan are in negotiations with Disney. So it could be that Disney movies and television series continue to get a pay television slot in Australia.
So they expect people to pay for…old stuff. Great.
The service will feature a fair amount of original programming/movies
For people with kids who watch a lot of Disney movies this will work out cheaper than buying a DVD every month or 2.
Who stills buys DVDS, like seriously…
I buy 4K and Standard Blurays
4K DVDs I can understand to a point, but with streaming out there now, I don’t see why people want to own physical copies of Movies/Shows anymore really, plus its cheaper to just stream.
And discs tend to get scratched, especially with kids around
I’m not up with all the legalities/patency laws, but are Disney allowed to do that? Films are copyright and all rights reserved (usually with the production company but often the studio for bigger in-house blockbusters)?
Or does owning 20C Fox now make that obsolete, even if the copyright was done on the Fox name at the time?
Some websites claimed Disney’s former older audience oriented Touchstone (et al) label back-catalogue (e.g.) “Con Air” would not be on Disney+, as Disney have made it clear this is “family friendly” (point of difference to their Hulu in some markets such as the US).
However, certain titles from these labels will be available it seems (e.g.) “Sister Act 1” and “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit”.
Be thankful for that (or any Nicholas Cage movie
)
hey, leave Nic Cage alone
I will not. Not until he stops making any more movies.
