It disappeared during the ill-fated Australia Today experiment but then came back (quietly), initially just as a relay of 4BC (at least here in Brisbane), but then mostly with 6PM content, before going back to a mix.
So ever since Australia Today died - that’s how long it has been back.

Just checked here in Melbourne and there are two Radio Maria Ital stations, with the first one no longer available. Was it a special channel for Christmas?

I can’t for the life of me remember what this station was… DAB+ More FM?
Maybe SCA can bring back their old DAB stations to Listnr like Loveland, More Digital, Stardust Radio. I cant see why not they cant do that

Didn’t SCA have a similar 80s station in the past? IIRC Kim Wilde was hosting a show on another DAB+ station in the past…
They have two now, it’s called Oldskool 80s and MMM 80s.
Definitely thinking of More Digital. Smooth 80s now has (or had?) Kim Wilde…
Yeah I’ve currently got MORE Digital on my morning alarm clock. It’s a bit hit and miss but gee they play some stuff that hasn’t been played for 20 years - I usually find myself humming along to something obscure all day. They are putting a bit of effort into the station too, with a brief national news and weather service and even a pre-recorded ‘Kim Wilde’ 80s show in the mornings. I’m not sure, but I think the news theme might be the ‘Austereo FM’ news theme from the 90s?
Bring back OMG!
They did plsy some rarer songs befitting their name.

We have NIGE! in Canberra that functions as a sort of Rebel FM for the ACT- a broad rock mix that’s better than anything else on offer. There are even ironic promos mocking commercial radio for playing the same 300 songs.
Maybe give it a whirl next time your excellent LOS southward allows.

Does it stream by any chance?

Yeah, I think iFart has it. It’s not better than Rebel though, just better than the other tripe on Canberra radio (which isn’t hard).

Ahhh I’ll have a look. haha iFart… perfect
Edit: Well thats certainly an interesting mix @dxnerd
The Sydney East DAB trial that uses 8D as well might have put a stop to that.
Canberra DAB was only received here a few times a year anyway.

Seems like Canberra are getting a “You’ll never know what we’ll play next” Jack FM style station 20 years late…

Yep, but I’d say more like Brian FM NZ than Jack. NIGE! even copies the sarcastic stings and 10 second advertising messages.
