I wonder what this channel is like any deep cuts?

I suspect this change is related to the changes in Canberra - as the KIX Country on Perth DAB has also seemingly been replaced with FOREVER 60’s DAB.

So presumably Capital are now no longer involved with Kix.

Something new on Perth DAB, this is confirmed. No more Kix Country, that disappeared and there is a new Forever Classic 60’s.

Content comment: Should really be Forever Classix 70’s, we really need a good 70’s channel. As much as I like the 80’s that was the beginning of the end with more synth music (and we already have 96fm 80s and OldSkool 80s). The 70’s had the true rock/guitar classics and bands (Eagles, Led Zeppelin, etc.) as well as the first (original and best?) dance genre … disco.

Technical comment: Kix Country does still exist on the Mandurah DAB (as Kix Country SW) I guess because on Mandurah it is pay as you go (Kix Countru SW and Sen Peel only) given West Coast radio own and occupy it (The Wave and Coast FM).

Try and tune into Melbourne’s Magic if you really like the 70’s. It is now mostly 70’s and I believe it is on LiSTNR.

Does Perth have Triple M 70s? I was excited about it at first but it’s a real disappointment. Extremely narrow in genre and repetitive. A real letdown.

I’d like see Capital Radio run a Forever Classic 80s station, since their pre 2024 regional log eg. GNFM / XLFM in NSW used to play some great 80s songs that you’d never hear anywhere else.

Every time I tune into MMM70s I like the fact that I’m gonna be hearing Supertramp… every time… most I have to wait is 30-40 minutes… sometimes if I’m lucky I might even get two Supertramps an hour…

The downside is I’m also guaranteed to get some Stevie Wonder…

When it comes to content, who’s the better EDM station, NN or DH?

NN at 48 does have a fuller sound, better mix too, better shows, probably better when it comes to fresh tracks… certainly for working out or going for a run I’d prefer to listen to NN. And NN Mark I was the whole reason I bought my first DAB+ radio in 2009… but…

For pure commercial EDM, you’re not gonna be disappointed with DH, you’re guaranteed to hear great tracks every time you listen… which is really what it’s all about… Guru Josh Infinity 2012, Sidney Samson Riverside… DH kept playing great EDM when no one else was… and for that I guess we should all show them a certain loyalty.

The same may be true of 6iX which goes from late 60s to early 80s music but I always felt very limited across the many 70s genres. I forgot to mention R&B/Soul: Luther Vandross, George Benson, Raydio, Brothers Johnson, etc.

Kix has disappeared from Gold Coast. There is now iHeart Country.

Kix is getting kixxed out everywhere (so it seems).

But Gold Coast is interesting since it’s ARN and they own Kix. Interesting that it’s been replaced with another ARN Country station.

Makes me wonder if other markets like Wollongong and Geelong have changed as well?

Wollongong is still KIX.

Wide Bay and Bundaberg are still KIX as well.

In the article posted above, it says that iHeartRadio is being expanded to key markets (ie. metro and provincial markets), and KIX will continue with dedicated regional programming. So that’s why KIX are leaving markets like Gold Coast, Perth and Canberra (and by extension Goulburn being that Capital we broadcasting KIX in Canberra, Perth and Goulburn).

Novanation Mk1 to be honest. Although I consider this reincarnation to still be superior to Dance Hits due to less ad spots.

More fresher hits and obscure early trance/ modern progressive tracks can be heard on RawFM but.

Oh thank you. I’ll check it out.
I was listening to Gorilla for a bit there too, but don’t know what happened.

New station on GC DAB apparently. Friend has told me they now have Culture Radio whatever the hell that is.

Totally agree Novanation is by far the best dance station on dab+ Probably not quite as good as the original station which launched with the start of dab+ and then had a bit rate of 64kbps.

Programming wise the guys who program Novanation must listen to Capital Dance UK. Novanation’s sounds in the last couple of months has become very similar to Capital Dance. When Capital Dance debuts new music “Jam Hot Records” Novanation is about one to two weeks behind.

Capital Dance is my favourite radio Station and Novanation a close second. I would not be surprised if Novanation ends up rating higher than Dance Hits in markets where both stations broadcast.

Yeah I second that, I notice they’re also partnering with some DJ events/festivals. I just don’t know why they aren’t more vocal about it on social media etc.

Did I miss something or was it always there? I noticed NTS was (back?) on DAB Brisbane. Its News Talk Sport by Nine. I thought that disappeared ages ago?
