Still no DAB changes in Perth, no replacement for Kinderling and no sign of any other stations.
Was ARN surprised about Kinderling pulling out, because now it’s been a couple of weeks surely there’d be some replacement, even if it’s just 96FM 90’s.

But doesn’t that apply nationwide (Kinderling pulling out and ARN not replacing it with any other station)? All of the discussion here on a new station is “Australia Today” which is not ARN.

FUN Classic Hits and Dance Super Digi have audio back again on Sydney DAB.
Still nothing on Gorilla or ZOO though.

A new station called “Coming Soon.” has just appeared on the Perth multiplexer, 32kbps EEP-3A.
No audio.

Zoo and Gorilla now have audio. All 4 SRN stations in Sydney have audio.

Also on-air in Sydney. Most probably from ARN’s allocation, replacing Kinderling.

Must’ve come up in the last few hours because “Coming Soon.” wasn’t on the 9B Sydney multiplex when I did a rescan shortly after @velpic’s post.

Interesting Perth is getting this ‘Coming Soon’ ahead of reusing that allocation for ARN stations we don’t have (96fm 90’s, Edge Digital). This must be a high priority station for ARN, you know like CW Remix is.

Yes that plays the same slowly undulating harmonic sound I am hearing when I tune in. Great! We have replaced X Digital with TikTok Trending here in Perth. First we had iTunes hits, then Spotify and now TikTok.

X Digital was on the Capital (6iX) allocation, not the ARN (96FM) allocation?

Yes, so we swap owners for the same format station (different name, different owner, same format, same low bitrate).

Not really, Soundcloud plays new music which may become popular whereas TikTok will play music which is popular now (Top 40 hits), especially as TikTok is audio-video (you need the music video so it shows up on TikTok). Although I don’t listen to new music I did catch on to the music video for Levitating by Dua Lipa, at the the end of the clip it mentions TikTok.
STOP PRESS: OK maybe the Trending makes it more to yet to be discovered new music, but the TikTok music video usually comes after (or do we already have music videos coming first and then the audio only track?).
