Digital Radio - Content

Yeah I’m actually enjoying it more than Smooth these days. Smooth has really lost its edge for me. It’s too narrow and there’s a lot of softer 90s stuff that just doesn’t do it for me. I actually prefer current softer songs to the 90s boy/girl band stuff.

I’m surprised I haven’t heard Tame Impala on Smooth/Gold/Heart

Is it just me or has Sky Sports radio DAB channels have disappeared from the Sydney multiplex? I only checked one radio.

SSR and STC are the 2 Sky Sports channels, still on air.

The ones missing are SEN Track and SEN Mel.

Again, it’s weird that SEN Track was dumped for The Bunnings Channel, considering just how much he Bald One loves the money from punters. But I guess Bunnings offered more money.

Thanks Global , I didn’t realise they renamed it. It is interesting no SEN Track now but it was so low res it wasn’t good to listen to (besides the content which I am not interested in). 1539 sounds a lot better. I prefer Bunnings radio, it would be nice to have artist and title in the text.

I’m enjoying Bunnings radio, despite the poor sound quality, it has a good mix of music.

Listen to Bunnings online it sounds a lot better.

It’s non existent.

I sampled it the other day, not too bad but they tend to throw in some random modern pop tunes in amongst all the MMM ‘bogan rock’ classics, making for a jarring experience at times***. I think Rebel does ‘working class radio’ much better tbh.

***Yes, pot, kettle, etc. when you consider the wild and woolly changes in music on my programme…but I try for some continuity believe it or not. Most of my music is organised in blocks of three songs, with most genre changes between the blocks rather than within them.

It’s not a pure rock station like Rebel, it’s a retail station for Tradie’s, so naturally they’ll play a variety of genres like Coles or Woolies radio.

I heard Gwen Stefani, Coolio and Daft Punk (and some new music which is just not as good as the throwbacks) on there, mixed in with some rock songs.

They will be, usual Australian music quota filler.

So is Bunnings Tradio being broadcast in every Bunnings around Australia?

Fair enough- I guess these ‘big box’ stations have to be all things to all people to a degree, and everyone goes to Bunnings at some point.

I think a ‘Jack Rock’ format would work for Bunnings though, ditching most pop, a more adventurous version of the regional MMM log.

After i heard “Asshole”by Dennis Leary at lunch today on Bunnings Tradio i made a trip to my local and they were playing the more store friendly “We built this City”

This should really be posted in the “Did they really just play that ?”thread.

BTW it was the edited but with the word”piss”included.

Now that’s a song!

Were you able to confirm if Bunnings was actually playing the “Tradio”?

Their own website says,

Tailor messaging to play at specific times of day, or days of the week. For targeting a Trade audience, Bunnings Radio for Trade runs from 6am to 9am on weekdays – the time that our Trade shoppers are stocking up for the day ahead.

But perhaps that’s been superseded by this launching.

Having to admit that I’m really enjoying Bunnings Tradio. The music mix is very wide and while you’d say it’s more Rock than other genre they are much more varied than other stations and I think the playlist is fantastic.

Does anyone have the steam URL for it? Thanks in advance! I’m too lazy to go down the usual avenue of Chrome, view page source etc. etc.

Download the SEN app or go the SEN webpage.

You need to sign-in first to be able to listen.
