Did They Really Just Play That?

This song has been mentioned heaps of times by me in this thread but…not this atrocity again…

I don’t hate it, it’s really not that bad, but on Triple M???

They (and all major radio stations nationwide) will continue to play this song until the end of Xmas Day. As @LiamP mentioned in a post earlier this month, it’s open season now. Both metro and regional stations are playing this song until then whether you like it or not.

And as I mentioned to @Petarkco in a post earlier this month…

@K.J_shakespeare31594, if you don’t like this song, or Christmas music in general, then simply just switch off the radio until Boxing Day instead of coming here and complaining about Xmas songs like Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You being played on the radio. Thank you.

The last time I tuned into WSFM was a 10-minute drive from the shops to home. Got ads all the way. So easy to not tune in.

They don’t even have the catchy ‘Cordina/Quicken put the taste in chicken’ ad anymore  That was exclusively on WS; was about 2004-05 from memory.

Six White Boomers by Rolf Harris! On Toowoomba’s community station 102.7 yesterday.

Awful

A song that I’d rather give the “Chris Benoit treatment” aka Erased from History.

Yep, even though I’d like to play ‘Jake The Peg’ as a Wrong Song, I refrain from doing so. Same with Gary Glitter’s stuff. Given I have received complaints for far less, it’s a wise move.

In Townsville (via E-Skip on the Mildura TEF Server) Power 100 played “Let her Cry” by Hootie and the Blowfish, not even a minute later and Triple M was literally playing the same song.

Heck we even gave the footy bus trip version of “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport” a quiet wide birth, and not because we can’t source a bus for the longer away trips (what goes on bus trips stays on bus trips, and this version definitely stays on bus trips)

The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme), John Williams heard on 94.1 Gold Coast this morning.

Stop Your Fussin’ - Toni Childs on Gold 104.3 yesterday. This one doesn’t get played much anymore.

My favourite of hers too.

Thankfully we saw it (and heard it) in our lifetime…only just in my case!

Agree with the sentiment on Toni. ‘I’ve Got To Go Now’ was also smashed in the early 90s despite its length; it’s never heard now. Childs now lives in Australia I believe.

Yes, Toni lives in Bryon Bay and is now an Australian citizen

Just a few moments ago on Triple M Stations countrywide via New Year’s Eve with Dave Gleeson, they played Young MC’s Bust a Move. Pretty weird choice for the traditional rock and greatest hits playlist!

Hardly traditional MMM fodder, but funnily enough I remember it being played on MMM Brisbane when they went through their brief CHR foray.

On New Year’s Eve with Dave Gleeson on Triple M right about now is another bizarre song, Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc (which samples Honky Tonk Woman by Rolling Stones).
