Even more so at a metro level with a curious mix of music, talk, sport and comedy (the latter is also debatable).
I think you can blame that song for being in Despicable Me 2 and many of Pharrellās songs being in the franchise as well. I never was fond of that franchise due to the Minions and how annoying they were.
I donāt agree,I like it
Itās corporate wankery, try and convince your market to be happy by flogging a song supposedly about being happy. More US dross to me.
Itās absolutely awful. Certainly doesnāt make me happy, it has the opposite effect in fact!
Heard āFollow You, Follow Meā by Genesis on the recently launched Triple M 70s DAB+ station on LiSTNR just almost an hour ago, as much as I love this song and Genesis during both Gabriel and Collins periods, in my opinion this song sounds a bit too soft for the Triple M branding (unlike the regional stations that is). Still a classic from 1978.
Wake Me Up by Avicii played just now on 92.5 MMM GOLD.
Just after 10:00am on Nova 106.9 yesterday, they played āHoudiniā by Dua Lipa and then the song of the same name by Eminem back to back.
More a HIT network tune.
Yep, thatās the Triple M Regional stations for ya. Theyāre more of a Triple M/HIT Hybrid compared to the metros since the latter adopted the āGood Times and Greatest Hitsā tagline, even though they still have a rock based playlist.
Take Me To Church / Hozier on The Breeze this morning.
TBH Iām quite baffled by this song. I actually quite like it but it seems to have been classified as āsoft ACā and pops up on soft AC stations all over the world (e.g. KOST in LA), but to me it just doesnāt fit the genre. Anyway, as I said I donāt mind the song but I still find it a clanger on stations like The Breeze.
Bon appetite! @dxnerd Did They Really Just Listen To That Station?
UPDATE: Funās over. Itās closed.
Tiny Tim- Tiptoe Through The Tulips
Double J just before noon today. Doing a real Billy Bob there (and no, itās not Requestival).
This was enough to break my MS hiatus, well played.
This is why I canāt stand Double J
Yeah, the music could be a bit more consistent and skew older of course. But thereās nothing wrong with a Wrong Song every now and again to keep you on your toes; I know you feel differently.I have noticed a few more older tracks creeping in when I have listened, though.
Easy Money / Billy Joel right now on 4BH. Not that itās a bad song on listening to it, but I swear Iāve never heard this song before in my life lol. I had to look it up to discover it was on the Innocent Man album, but I canāt find any evidence it ever charted as a single here?
I say good on them for playing an album track. The fact that you posted in this thread speaks to the rarity of the event on commercial radio.
(I had to look it up too).
I usually only hear album tracks on Radio Caroline. It isnāt even that common on most community radio shows.
Lose Yourself- Eminem going across Triple M Regional QLD as I write this
WTF???
EDIT: was on metro aswell
They seem to be doing what the song says, losing themselves
