And I thought that the Triple M Regionals changing their format to a GOLD FM esque format two years ago was ludicrous!
Destiny’s Child- Jumpin Jumpin’
JJJ this morning. Is this a shift to the mainstream or just a random WTF?
Not sure about random when you also throw in some
Robbie Williams - Rock DJ
I know they do a ‘Lunchtime Legend’ where a listener requests a song to get play, normally something a little separated from the usual playlist. Perhaps something similar here?
I would prefer it if they played the Bob The Builder version.
Yes an abomination. Instant station changer.
good way to tarnish the triple m brand that happened when the regionals changed over i quess
What’s wrong with Lou Bega I was 9-10 years old when it came out I guess it’s bit daggy it’s not that bad is it?
The fact that Triple M played it would be why it’s here. The song is simply not suited for a ‘rock’ station (even though the regional stations are slightly loose with what rock is)
Yeah it is that bad ![]()
I think a 10yo would have loved it back in the day, but most older people really hate it ![]()
I don’t think it’s suited to any station ![]()
I think its fair to say the regional stations aren’t rock stations, and probably never will be.
Using the "triple M’ name was 100% about sales only having two national (excluding the NT) networks to sell, nothing else
Triple M Brisbane 104.5 played “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice at 11:24 AM today.
What?
I get Triple M Brisbane is trying to go more greatest hits than rock, which is fine, but they’re just picking some awful music to broaden with. Who’s in charge of music selection at 4MMM? They need a new career
The golden rule of music programming: don’t play crap music just to call yourselves ‘eclectic’.
“Eclectic” is never a word that springs to mind when I think of commercial radio music programming.
Quite the opposite, boring, safe, repetitive, uninspiring yes, eclectic, no
Unless you’re The Breeze
. Heard Bon Voyage/ Little Heroes this arvo in drive. ![]()
This morning, Nova 100’s Ben, Liam and Belle played a snippet of The Music Never Ends by popular Japanese boy band Arashi (which is currently in hiatus). It came after a listener called the show yesterday, telling the hosts that her grandma has a tattoo of members of Arashi. The hosts spoke to Ann today before playing the song on air.
I think it’s the first time a J-Pop song is broadcast on Nova 100.
Some unusual songs I heard on Triple M Regional’s Summer 600 Countdown via Triple M Newcastle 102.9
Unique II’s cover of Matthew Wilder’s “Break My Stride” from 1996
And this song is what I consider a station changer nowadays in my opinion even though every mother in the late 90s had “Come on Over” in their music collection.
