I have heard it on Rock Antenne Classic Perlen (Munich) as well, so it obviously gained traction in Europe.
Interesting fact: âYouâre The Voiceâ topped the charts in (what was then) West Germany for 2 weeks in April/May 1987 & also topped the charts in Sweden for 8 weeks around the same time. It also hit the Top 10 in the UK, Ireland, Austria, Denmark & Switzerland, as well as the Top 20 in Canada. Interestingly, it only got to #13 in NZ.
Youâre The Voice was also featured in this weeks Hot Dub Time Machine mix on Nova, repeated again today at 5pm.
Be My Lover (Radio Edit #2) by La Bouche played on Mix 106.3 today during their âparty mixâ. Didnât know they played 90s EurodanceâŚ
A fairly popular song though, and Eurodance dominated the charts for a while there in the mid 90s. Similar acts like the Real McCoy, Snap, Culture Beat etc. all get regular airplay.
Heard the following song this morning on 2NUR FM, supposedly an easy listening station
Jump - Van Halen
I just tuned into 2CH they are playing the Moody Blues in glorious 48k compressed stereo. A very preemptive track from their library.
Go Now - The Moody Blues
Quite appropriate given the current situation (see the 2CH thread for those who donât know the context).
Here are the lyricsâŚ
âWeâve already said âgoodbyeâ
Since you gotta go, oh youâd better
Go now, go now, go now (go now, ooh)
Before you see me cry?â
the whole song or parts of it?
The whole lot from memory.
Smoothfm decides to play some Old Skool DANCE music like âI Gotta Feelingâ by Black Eyed Peas and âThe Key The Secretâ by Urban Cookie Collective from 7PM-9PM on Saturdays.
There was one time on FOX FM last year, They played⌠Chris Franklinâs Bloke.
Perhaps itâs my age, but Iâm bemused that you (or the radio station) put a 2009 song and a 1993 song in the same category of âold skool danceâ! 2009 seems like yesterday!
A lot of the CHR/Hot AC stations we have now (like KIIS101.1/106.5 & the hit network prior to their rebrand) considered âold schoolâ to be vaguely 90s/00s and maybe late 80s. 2009 is 10 years ago now - shocking I know.
Princes of The Universe by Queen played a few hours ago during Mix 106.3âs âTwo-Up Tuesdayâ.
While this song was only picked as a single in a few countries [as per the bandâs request] and didnât fair well in the charts here, it only became a radio staple after the Highlander TV series [based on a film that used songs from the Kind Of Magic album] started airing, which infamously used it as the showâs theme song. Weird
Wild Horses by Gino Vannelli on 2CH. Not a normal track they would play, but a good choice of song in my opinion. I hope they continue to expand the music playlist.
I wish Wild Horses by Gino Vannelli was played on Smoothfm.
Smoothfm UPDATE: Wannabe by Spice Girls and Justified and Ancient by KLF has been played.
UPDATE AGAIN Sorry for spamming but itâs real: Mel and Kimâs Respectable have been played too. The full list will be out on the Radio Log page.
I also just heard Respectable (earlier in the arvo) on Easy Hits. I didnât feel as easy then. I was ready to do a few somersaults after hearing it.
Or make that cop shake and dance. Like in the music video.
Hit Oldskool played Me Myself & I by ScandalâUs during Ten from Then from April 2001 this morning, the group created from Popstars Season 2, they were no where as successful as Season 1âs Bardot.
