I pretty much think the same about yours - others seem to rate it but I find it completely unwatchable. That is why trying to adopt the one style of the format in the other country would never work.
It looks so so cheap though, barely any audience, a very “barebones” set-up and ugly boxes. Didn’t follow the worldwide style guide at all, but this is a country still airing Pointless every night.
There was a guy on the first run of the show and knocked out the top 4 amounts in decending order and was offered only 10c, less than the lowest briefcase amount of 50c.
I remember one year on the Channel 7 version a contestant was having the worst luck and Walter (the banker) offered him -$100.
The contestant was then told “Walter is now billing you for being here” haha.
Of course he said no deal but I bet it would have been like “Uhhh, you’re not actually allowed to do that” or something like that if for whatever reason the contestant said Deal .
I do remember a few contestants having bad luck like him in the first round. And just to rub salt in the wounds, when they would come back from the break they would do a replay/montage of all the greens being knocked out.
So low wins isn’t common in your version? Do you all just generally play it safe? The 1p Club was and is very much a thing in the UK version and an end game with two low values is as common as with two high values.
Low wins here come mostly from having one green and one blue left. When they’ve got two really lows as the last case, they’ll toss out Steal the Deal to get them some more money.
Grant appeared on Jase and Lauren on Nova 100 this morning. He discussed several things including his battle with alcohol addiction.
On DOND, Grant said that 7pm was a great timeslot as many families would be watching. He described the show as kind of “human ATM” which helps people struggling with the cost of living.
