Just like the OG 7 version, contestants are opening the briefcases not the models as in most international versions

This new ad seems to be rather…weird.
You’ve got these people opening the cases of the largest sums followed by cut-scenes of the contestants cheering like there’s no tomorrow as if they’ve won the competition. Seems to be completely contradictory to the usual rules that we’ve come to know from the Seven version, right?

Good pick up on looking weird. Though, in the game, if you have taken a deal, it’s good if your briefcase doesn’t have the $100k.

They would mean they had a strategy.

This show will rate worse than the news at 6 and cost way more to produce for little revenue. It’s a ridiculous show to be bringing back in an equally ridiculous time slot for it to air given every other game show at this time has failed.

It’s highly repeatable content, so obviously the economics are there to support the investment.
Also the move away from 90 min news has obviously allowed them to launch additional bulletins, this is absolutely a good thing.
I’m not particularly interested in this show, but I can see why they’ve done it.
As has been said before, you can’t keep polishing a turd.

They should’ve aired it at 5:00pm and moved 10 News First forward to 5:30pm. I can’t see this show lasting until the end of the year with it competing against Seven and Nine News. I watch The Chase at 5:00pm and then Nine News at 6:00pm each weeknight. I will watch Deal Or No Deal on 10Play at 7:30pm.
Don’t agree with this but you might be right on the rest. At least 10 attempt new formats (this one is an exception). 
7 just recycle and 9’s are in the main toxic, e.g. MAFS and The Block.
