Larry should host.
Another good addition.
Now Seven needs to back off of Daryl, Sonia, Todd, Mark and Joshua and the show will be great.
five former winners, plus high achievers, and a few wildcards.
so 4 more winners, in addition to Ada.
i’d pick; Manu, Luke Jacobz, Bridie Carter, Tom Williams
I’d love to see Dan & Eddy back as hosts. Get rid of Daryl and Sonia “Eddie everywhere” Kruger
Larry & Kylie would be good IMO, they’re more than capable and a good pairing for this kind of event television with hosting / interviewing.
If it was me, I’d have Larry Emdur and Edwina Bartholomew as hosts.
Larry and Eddy are both under-utilised in their current roles and this would be a good chance for them both to try something new.
I agree. They should follow how 10 produced their seasons and how BBC produce Strictly. The older seasons with Daryl Somers on Seven seemed tacky and very unpolished in comparison.
Let 7 do it their way. They know their audience. A 10 product wouldn’t work on 7
It didn’t work on 10 either.
I guess as a viewer I just want to see a polished and professional show like the last two seasons on 10. At the moment it seems that Seven wants to do bring back almost everything about the show that was done about 15 years ago which worked back then but would be cringeworthy and unprofessional today.
If Seven wants DWTS to be a hit then they have to move on from the past and modernise the show to fit in today’s environment. They need to move with the times instead of dwelling on everything from yesterday, judging by the speculations of hosts and potentially judges and even the set.
Yes, I completely agree.
While most people here (me included) would say we need less rather than more of these two on our screens, it’s an undeniable fact that Daryl Somers & Sonia Kruger were DWTS hosts during the most successful years of that program and would probably be the perfect fit for an “All Stars” edition especially if dancers from some of the earlier seasons were to participate.
Yes but they are yesterday’s glory. Having the nostalgia in returning contestants should be enough of a throwback for Seven. Everything else (hosts, judges, graphics, set) should be new.
I dont think modernising or refreshing should be the priority, at least not for the all stars season.
Seems like this is going to be more of a nostalgic variety show than the next season of DWTS. I’d rather they spend money on a good cast than an impressive set.
Ten’s version was an expensive failure, I don’t think there is anything to salvage from that. The expensive set and polished promos could have been a detraction and killed the vibe. Seemed like it took itself too seriously, when the most successful and memorable seasons were fun, cheap and daggy light entertainment.
That said, Daryl would be taking the dagginess too far, he was really struggling on heyhey 10 years ago, he couldn’t get a sentence out without getting distracted, cant imagine he has improved, give the gig to Larry.
And will Daryl be doing his racist schtick towards Chong Lim?
He still prefers to keep his old guard up so I reckon he probably can’t help himself and do it
Hoping they have actually screen tested Daryl. Obviously with age and being out of the game for quite some time might come with its own challenges - let’s hope the nostalgia factor is worth the trouble.
Or even “You’re Back In The Room” which aired on Nine in April 2016? For those who don’t remember, this was the hypnotism show (their equivalent to Seven’s “Mesmerized” from 2015, one could say) which started out big before losing around 50% of the audience by the finale.
Daryl is also notorious for not using an autocue and hence the shit that comes out of mouth.
I’m actually hoping they use him so that he is mocked mercilessly by the public and media alike. He’s so awful.
That was some of the worst tv!
Yeah, the only good thing to come out of “Your Back In The Room” was the inevitable Gogglebox grilling.
Similar can probably be said if Seven decide to have Daryl host DWTS: All-Stars.
