How much longer do we get rolling coverage of a storm?
My parents have said the trees are not even moving where they are in Brisbane, and a little bit of light rain.
On North Stradbroke Island the foodworks has already reopened for normal trading hours.
Hopefully everyone can take their sandbags down to the beach and replenish some of the lost sand.
The 10-window live crosses on 9 should probably wrap up soon.

I’ll be surprised if Nine’s scheduled rolling coverage in Brisbane continues today, at least this afternoon. Save for a breakout rain/flooding event somewhere, which goes for coming days too, so it’s not over yet.

Legit the 9 caption says that people not evacuating North Stradbroke Island are being told to stay indoors.
However, ive been told that it was a quiet night with light wind and rain.
The foodworks has reopened.
Locals are out picking up litter this morning.
I’m so confused. It hasn’t even hit yet why are we acting like it’s over?

Im just relaying the reality of what is happenning on the island, vs what the 9 caption says, at 8.30 this morning.
It is no longer a cyclone. They are just forecasting the potential of a lot of rain in some areas now.
Sure but that doesn’t mean it’s over.
I just think it’s a bit reckless that’s all. Albo said minutes ago to stay inside still.

The media was fine in this. The PM and Qld Premier both acknowledged their role. They’ve also managed to find some light stories in amongst it all too.
The situation now does not warrant rolling coverage on any network.
