Cyclone Alfred - Coverage

@TV.Cynic I notice from the screenshots that the font and time on the clock changes suddenly between the “6:41” picture and the “5:54” picture.

Did the bulletin air in QLD for nearly an hour with the AEDT time in the corner?

Might have been a very faint signal knowing it’s coming from 370km away and the Tropo is not very good at the moment, ABC Mid North Coast on 95.5 (Middle Brother) is currently airing Cyclone Information instead of TGIF.
The ABC serving it’s important purpose as an Emergency Broadcaster.
I assume NRL Coverage will not be on tonight between Middle Brother and Wide Bay. Hopefully everyone will stay safe from this massive storm.

Just got home and whacked on 10… were they going out nationally? Sandra said that’s where we leave the national coverage and local news at 5 and after the break in Sydney then listed the stories.

The Sydney news was shown in Brisbane at 4pm then Brisbane went to B and B at 4.30pm.

Yes - today and yesterday.

Just seen on the latest BOM TC Advice

“Media: Transmitters serving the Moreton Bay islands and exposed coastal areas between Cape Moreton and Southport are requested to sound the Standard Emergency Warning Signal before broadcasting the following warning.”

Any of the stations begun to use it yet?

Also I’m surprised we haven’t moved from Advice to Warning yet.

90 minutes of Rove’s schtick. No thanks.

Ten would’ve been better to continue with the 10 news branding and coverage given their higher numbers at 5pm compared to The Project in prime time.

Agree - suppose you could argue the project needs the boost but I would have gone with news.

I know right. Cairns and Co didn’t get such treatment on its many prior beltings.

The reporting gets worse if these systems tend to fizz out a bit. They try to continue with the doomsday stuff but it’s just not going to happen.
