Not often that QLD presenters are seen hosting news nationally but good for Nine and 10 using their local talent this time.
Why does that 10 cap look much better picture quality than the local news. Is the lighting & control rooms different?
I wonder if it has anything to do with having a familiar face on tv during a crises.
Frequent announcements are being made on ABC Classic this afternoon advising how people can still listen to the station after it was announced it would become a simulcast of 612 in Brisbane at 3pm.
As the national emergency broadcaster, the ABC has made this decision to ensure local audiences can access relevant emergency information on both AM and FM frequencies, and it will serve as an additional redundancy should either frequency experience an outage.
As mentioned
That’s now switched over, Classic FM finished a song and hard switch over to the 612 feed.
At 3.00pm Qld/ 4.00pm AEDT, other states went to 7 Afternoon News .
And fatigue.
It’s going to be many long days for the local reporters and presenters in the coming days.
On 10, “Deal Or No Deal” repeat at 6pm tonight OUT. 90 minute “The Project: Cyclone Special” scheduled.
I’m sure viewers are going to flock to get their latest updates from Rove McManus.
Either dump him tonight and get Hamish and Sarah in or don’t bother with The Project at all.
Wonder if Seven could use Docklands again to co-ordinate some coverage, with Mike Amor, Karina Carvelho and Rebecca Maddern (all with national identities) all on site there? Like they did last night with the special bulletin.
It should be hunker down, not bunker down. And cyclone, not cylone!
Goodbye ABC Classic Brisbane on 106.1 FM, here’s the switch to ABC Radio Brisbane.
ABC Local Radio (except Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and NSW North Coast) will broadcast special editions of Australia All Over and AM this Sunday, according to online guides.
I think either is ok:
Hunker down:
to make yourself comfortable in a place or situation, or to prepare to stay in a place or position for a long time, usually in order to achieve something or for protection
Bunker down:
taking protective action against something
you may not know the answer to this but is it only to ABC Classic (FM) in Brisbane or regional Queensland and NNSW sites as well?
Only Brisbane.
10 News Sydney in semi generic mode tonight, going into Queensland between 4 and 5, I assume.
