Why was today’s rolling coverage not postponed?

I’ve been saying this. Narelda crossing to Josh is always awkward. He tries to be funny or make small talk and she shuts him down. When Lachlan or Ange does it, that doesn’t happen.

But with that being said, i thought they did an okay job today. Wasn’t awkward for a change.

They’d already announced and prepared for it, still some stuff happening so fair enough - other networks are still continuing too. Will likely just continue over the next few days too.

Have to say, this no frills coverage with Sharyn linking things and crossing to Josh is already so much more watchable - she is a pro. They should’ve just done a standard Lunchtime bulletin with all of the other days news.

Seven Brisbane had some non-cyclone headlines ahead of 1pm and then again later. They have been filling voids in their coverage with segments of an earlier media conference and other stories. Can’t seem to find enough to report on (live).

Why does the fourth frame of TV.Cynic’s highlights from News Breakfast say “Brisbane”, when clearly James is in Melbourne?

I did mean everyone, not just 10. It sort of shows it is more about theatrics than reacting to the news cycle.

But, perhaps for 10 specifically, as you’ve sort of already said, they will have heaps today and nothing tomorrow morning and on Saturday.

I assume this was probably mentioned on other stations but this morning the Ch7 reporter on the Gold Coast talked about the dangers of the eye of the storm, telling viewers to stay indoors even if it looks safe to go outside to take photos or inspect for damage etc. He said the eye can pass extremely quickly and people could get caught outside, putting them in extreme danger. He was very informative.

Bit of a longer closer there!

Aside from the national backdrop, is something different about the Queensland bulletin today?

Picture quality and lighting looks better (controlled from Sydney?) and even that closing shot looks sooooo much better than usual.

10play seeming to run on a delay, just started the afternoon bulletin in QLD.

I wonder if 10 will have coverage tomorrow and Saturday?

Back to Sydney and the quality IMO is already dropping.

QLD going it alone at 3pm local time just in time for a news conference.

The change over to Katrina was after the police media conference about a police shooting.
