That would mean day matches which the BCCI isn’t likely to agree to.

But aren’t they still getting the one day games in Australia, just later? If you look at the recent one day games in March from India, they rated higher than some of the games here in Australia. So perhaps the time of the year doesn’t really matter anyway.

Problem is the one day games in India could clash with Big Bash League matches back in Australia. If the high ratings of the recent series is repeated next year, the ratings of BBL night matches will take a hit.

Judging by the recent NZ tour, they could start at 1pm AEDST if not later.

Moved to a YTBD date. They’ll get them at some point but a harder package sell across the summer without them.

Are you referring to the Aus v Ind matches in India? That’s what I was referring to.

A 1 PM AEDT start would be ridiculously early in India. More likely they will be D/N matches which means the matches will conclude in the wee hours Australian time, like the current IPL.

A compromise would be to start at 10 AM Indian time which would be mid afternoon AEDT, concluding about the same time as a home D/N ODI. I think that is feasible given it’s the cool season in India, but this won’t suit the home (Indian) audience.

Oh sorry I meant that Fox would rather want games in their own Timezone (ie played in Australia) and with their own coverage (ability to create sponsorships/revenue streams)

Foxtel would have known this already as the the ODI series in India was always planned to be played in mid January. Foxtel should be angry about having New Zealand’s ODIs moved to March.

AFL and NRL get underway in March so Foxtel are probably wanting the NZ series to be in early March while it is still pre season for AFL and NRL

Cricket Australia has announced the squad for the upcoming World Cup in England.

Smith and Warner go straight in after serving their suspension from last year’s ball tampering scandal, but Hazlewood and Handscomb miss out. I think Australia needs a back up wicketkeeper in case Carey is injured before or during the tournament.

I’m surprised Shaun Marsh got in ahead of Handscomb, partly because the latter can keep wickets. There’s no back up that I can see in that squad.

Shaun Marsh does perform well in ODI’s. I do think Handscomb a little unlucky to miss out and I do see your point re keeping. David Warner has done some back up keeping in the past so I’m sure he’d be the option of something ever happened to Carey.

Handscomb is very unlucky. He was in pretty good form wasn’t he in the last series?

England has named its squad for the Cricket World Cup.

There will be a lot of pressure on these players as they attempt to win the tournament at home.

Very good!

Reminds me of this from when he was continuously getting out LBW a few years ago…

James Faulkner in trouble this morning for an Instagram post in which he jokingly described his business partner as his ‘boyfriend’ . After multiple media outlets reported his ‘coming out’ he now says it was a mis-interpreted joke.
