I really hope they pick another batter, and ideally a specialist opener like Weatherald.

I worry about a batting lineup that has Labuschange or Green opening and two all-rounders in the top six, even if Webster has shown enough to keep his spot.

India defeated Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20 match at People’s First Stadium on the Gold Coast tonight, and now lead the series 2-1 with the decider at The Gabba on Saturday night. Not often you see a bowler take 3 for 3 in just 8 balls as Sundar did.

Tonight’s T20 at The Gabba was washed out. India batted first and reached 0/52 from 4.5 overs, before lightning nearby forced players off the field. Rain then hit the ground for nearly two hours, leading to the game being abandoned. As less than five overs were completed, Cricket Australia will have to give refund to everyone who bought a ticket to the match.

India won the series 2-1. Opener Abhishek Sharma was named player of the series with 163 runs.

A bit surprised they didn’t get the players to bowl one more ball!

I think it was lightning in nearby suburbs that forced the umpires to call the players to walk off the field, due to safety concerns.

WBBL’s season opener saw Renegades beating Heat by DLS method.

Heat went first and scored 133, mostly contributed by de Klerk (40) and Henry (29).

But then the rain was so heavy and long-lasting that Renegades’ target was reduced to 66 with 8 overs.

It was achieved at 7.3 overs.

I really hate this concept

Pat Cummins has given a mixed update on the status of injured bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Sean Abbott after both had scans for hamstring issues on Wednesday afternoon.

The pair were both in action on Wednesday morning for NSW in their Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria, but were taken from the field for a medical assessment.

The news sent a huge scare through the Australian camp and wider public with just over a week to go until the first Ashes match in Perth.

For the first time, the brand will also hold naming rights for the Women’s International Series for the next seven seasons, covering Test, One-Day International, and T20 International matches.

Commonwealth Bank was previously the naming sponsor for the women’s International Series.

Strange that they haven’t worked out a sub brand or something to promote in Victoria - for such prominent national naming rights having no presence in Victoria is weird.

It’s because RACV remains a strong brand in Victoria. Insurance Australia Group (which owns NRMA Insurance) also has a 70% share in Insurance Manufacturers of Australia which issues insurance under RACV Insurance.
