A huge turnaround in form for England after they lost their first three group matches.
Western Australia has claimed Sheffield Shield for the first time since 1998/99, after drawing the final against Victoria in Perth today. The match was called off at lunch on the final day’s play, with WA claiming the title on bonus points after outperforming Victoria in the first 100 overs of the first two innings.
This means WA has won four of five available domestic cricket titles in the 2021/22 season: men’s and women’s Big Bash League, men’s one-day cup and now Sheffield Shield. Tasmania won women’s one-day cup.
Tassie represent!
Take that QLD, NSW, VIC and SA!
Tassie stole Vic players
Happy with the cricket result and the performance of our sides this summer considering the border issues and the Scorchers winning away from home and playing only one game at Optus Stadium.

Cricket Australia Scheduling Priorities
- Men’s Tests
- BBL & WBBL
- All Women’s Internationals
- Men’s White Ball Tournaments & IPL
- Sheffield Shield
- Men’s and Women’s Domestic 50 Over
- Men’s Bilateral White Ball Internationals best of between 1-5 Matches v Opponent .
No what do you mean by 7? You do know that the recent scheduling has been COVID impacted.
For example @foxyrover the recent 5 T20I Series v Sri Lanka. Yes I was aware Covid affected the scheduling. Or another example the recent 3 ODI’S and 1 T20I v Pakistan.
Yeah so why do you think that they are their last scheduling priority?
@foxyrover Yes it’s content and advertising revenue for broadcasters. Team selection and playing strategy suggests it’s development opportunities finding the right players for the right roles for Champions Thophy and World Cup Tournaments.
General public in recent years including pre COVID interest has dwindled. This has reflected in crowds, print media, TV and radio coverage.
Wrong decision to continue to allow Afghanistan to be a full-member.

Looks to be a good series. These squads can still change though depending on the outcomes of various matches and individual performances.
Just 3 test matches would be great if they could stretch it out a bit. Maybe they should go back the old days (with the one dayer final series in Australia) if it is 2-0 , the 3rd test is only needed if the series can be still won in the last test.
