The venues for the first 21 matches of the season were announced today – matches will be played in Tasmania, Canberra, Queensland and South Australia in December – and officials have their fingers crossed that Australia’s state borders will continue to open up, which would allow them to take games into Western Australia, Victoria and NSW in January.

However, restrictions on movement mean there will still likely be matches at neutral venues in the second half of the season and the location of the tournament decider could be announced well ahead of time, with the MCG a possibility.

These decisions were made yesterday afternoon. I’m sure WA had every opportunity to be involved.

I assumed the decisions and negotiations would have been discussed and made weeks ago not a day before an announcement.

These decisions WEREN’T made yesterday afternoon.

How did I even do that.

Haha no worries! It is an easy thing to do.

Seems a bit pointless coming out here, and doing 14 days quarantine for just one match?

Can’t see him returning as he’d have to go through quarantine all over again.

No he’ll be here for the 3 ODIS and 3 T20Is as well.

Tickets for the highly anticipated Australia v India international series will go on sale next week, with Cricket Australia announcing a price freeze with limited capacities at all venues.

Public health concerns mean the five venues to host international cricket this summer – the SCG, Manuka Oval, the Adelaide Oval, MCG and the Gabba – will all have restrictions on the numbers of fans able to attend.

CA has kept entry level prices at $30 for adults and $10 for kids (plus booking fees) for the fifth straight summer, and all prices will be the same as India’s last tour in 2018-19.

I am glad we will get to see him bat, even if it is for just one game. One of the best players the world has ever seen.

It’s a no-brainer to include Will Pucovski in the test squad after he scored double hundreds in two consecutive Sheffield Shield matches. Swepson, Abbott and Neser were also picked for the first time.

Abbott, Neser, Pucovski and Swepson were also named in the Australia A squad that will face India in two 3-day warm-up matches.
Australia A squad: Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Joe Burns, Jackson Bird, Alex Carey (wk), Harry Conway, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Nic Maddinson, Mitchell Marsh (subject to fitness), Michael Neser, Tim Paine, James Pattinson, Will Pucovski, Mark Steketee, Will Sutherland, Mitchell Swepson

CA last week signed a new broadcast deal with LiveNow, that will allow WBBL and BBL matches, as well as the upcoming series between Australia and India, to be streamed in Japan and most European countries. The BBL and WBBL will also be available to subscribers in 11 countries in South East Asia.

CA will introduce new rules for the BBL this summer to spice up the game.

The Bash Boost is just confusing.

Makes no sense. It’s a gimmick for the sake of a gimmick.

Everyone: The season is too long, make it shorter

CA: Interest is waining, lets add more gimmicks!

Have a shorter season; play more shield cricket .

You won’t get the big names back playing that.

You’re better off trying to structure it so that the Test players are back for BBL, sans gimmicks.

Shield Cricket is better off being for the up and comers and those trying to get back in the Test team. No use trying to make it the centre of it all.
