I believe Finn is going between ABC and BBC Radio coverage.
BBC has its own team here in Australia, including the previously mentioned Jonathan Agnew and Alison Mitchell, plus Simon Mann and 5 Live’s Elly Oldroyd.

So Mitchell is doing triple shifts? ABC, BBC and Seven? Good on her if she is, she’s one of the better commentators out there!
I know its no big deal, but I wish they would update the broadcast guide on the big bash website.

No SEN on the list, and MSR hasn’t been on air for a while now.
SEN have announced their commentary line-up for The Ashes. Seems like it’s mostly the same line-up as last year with the addition of Michael Atherton to provide an England perspective:
Spearheading the broadcast is SEN’s chief sports caller Gerard Whateley, who will be joined by experienced sports commentator Anthony Hudson and award-winning cricket broadcaster Adam Collins on ball-by-ball duties.
Former Australian opener Simon Katich and Damien Fleming return to the team to share their much-loved views of the game, with Ashes-winning batsman and Victorian cricket coach Chris Rogers bringing unique and current insights to the coverage.
SEN is proud to announce that former England captain, The Times Chief Cricket Writer and revered cricket broadcaster Michael Atherton will also be part of the team, along with Australian wicket-keeping legend Ian Healy and former Australian women’s cricket captain Lisa Sthalekar. Regulars including The Australian’s Peter Lalor and former Australian all-rounder Simon O’Donnell will complement the team across the series.
ABC Radio’s commentary team for the 1st Ashes test includes three from the BBC Test Match Special team. Alison Mitchell is not available as she is in Melbourne calling the action for Seven, but is still able to chip in with opinion during previews and session breaks. She will join the team for the second test in Adelaide.
The BBC TMS commentary team comprises of ball-by-ball callers Jonathan Agnew, Simon Mann, Jim Maxwell and Isa Guha, with expert analysis from Steven Finn, Phil Tufnell, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn McGrath, Shane Watson and Ian Chappell.

What stations are taking the Triple M coverage on FM? A quick check of streaming and it appears all the metros except Perth are taking it. I doubt many regionals (if any) are taking it.
Is triple m firing their ads automatically? There’s a weird overlap between the cricket and the the ad
It sounds like they are firing them remotely from the broadcast location but there is some latency in the incoming audio to the host studio so that’s why there is an overlap.
Also where is the radio commentary coming from? At least on Triple M it sounds like they are all in Sydney or Melbourne. I assume they are at the NEP studios in both cities like last time. Makes sense to get access to the commentators working on the Fox or Seven broadcast too.
I’m not sure but Bradshaw is seen on their Instagram account with everyone else in the box with the others so I thought at the GABBA originally.
But it might be the NEP HQ which would make more sense given the border situation.
I saw a video of Gus Worland in what looked like Melbourne studios conducting an interview with Nathan Lyon.
Some are in a studio at NEP (so that commentators can change between Fox and Seven’s coverages) and others are at SCA Melbourne and Sydney.
Looks like most of them are at NEP looking at Instagram

I’ll pop this here. Interesting comparison of the five calls (including TV) of the first ball. JB obviously flicked the switch to MMM style. Can’t say I enjoy that style but there must be an audience.
Gerard Whateley’s call on SEN takes the cake. “An Ashes can be defined by the first delivery!”
The guy could call snail racing and I’d be enthralled.
There’s absolutely no description of the delivery whatsoever on the MMM call. We know he was bowler but what kind of delivery was it and where did it land?
The ABC/SEN calls offer that.
Greg Blewett comes to the rescue and makes amends for that in the MMM call if you watch the full thing:

I decided to tune in 1170 to hear some big bash action, the strikers vs the renegades. It was not on, luckily on SEN Melbourne (I am in Sydney) on DAB it was on but the error correction mode of 4A was very noticeable in the car around Carlingford. With the audio dropping out in some areas.
I guess 1170 SEN dont want to mess with ratings of the flagship evening show when a Sydney team is not playing?
“3LO”
I love the laugh in the SEN one!
