We didn’t even get the Strikers game on SEN SA. SENTrack is over done. Keep it to the track channels unless it is a big racing day.
Only taking the Sixers/Renegades game from 6pm AEDT tonight according to the guide. (link)
Being a Sunday night, coverage in Sydney moves from 1170 SEN to 1539 SEN Track at 9pm.
I eagerly tuned into 1539 in glorious static unfortunately no sign of the Cricket just horse racing chat. This is despite them mentioning it about 4 times how to tune in. Luckily it’s on SENTrack DAB and SEN Melbourne on DAB.
ABC Radio’s commentary team for the day/night test between Australia and India which starts at Adelaide Oval this afternoon. Kristen Beams is part of the team.
I’ve noticed that SEN Sydney is running an alternate call of the test up to 8pm. From 8pm they switch to the same coverage as SEN Melbourne, SEN SA, etc.
I wonder why this is the case? I’ll be sure to flick between SEN Melbourne and SEN Sydney this afternoon and see what they are doing differently.
SEN’s commentary team for the first test includes former spinner Gavin Robertson and two cricket writers: Peter Lalor from The Australian and Bharat Sundaresan (beastieboy07) from Indian cricket website Cricbuzz.
It will be the first time Matt White calls a cricket test.
Fleming and Katich are also working for Seven’s coverage of this match.
Matt White with Brad Haddin opening the commentary on 1170 SEN Sydney .
Gerard Whateley with Damien Fleming opening the commentary for 1116 SEN Melbourne.
I assume SEN didn’t fly the team to SA?
I’d assume not, but some of the team are so they could be in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Most of the team including Whateley, Hudson, Fleming and Katich are at Adelaide from 1116 SEN’s Twitter account.
Good! Hutch has caved!
Yeah I think one of BBL matches finished late and they had issues with the sound from the other game was messy. Probably with BBL too expensive too many games so I understand to some extent.
Is Robbo still with 2SM’s Talkin’ Sport? Does this still allow him to be on SEN and 2SM?
The growing COVID-19 cluster at Sydney’s Northern Beaches has affected coverage of the first test on SEN and ABC.
News Corp reports SEN has made the decision to send commentators Brad Haddin, Gavin Robertson and Matt White back to Sydney to call the action from a studio.
ABC 702 is broadcasting normal programs this afternoon and will join coverage of today’s play when the night session starts at 8pm AEDT.
Sounds like right now SEN Sydney is taking the SEN Melbourne feed. Guessing they are currently in transit today. They may resume tomorrow. Such a shame as Matt White was so happy to be there, said it was his first time at the Adelaide test and sadly he only got to experience one day of it.
ABC commentator Ian Chappell, who lives in Palm Beach at Sydney’s Northern Beaches, was ordered to leave the Adelaide Oval by SA health authorities midway through today’s play in the first test, and return to his hotel. He will undergo a COVID test on Saturday morning and could be forced into 14-day quarantine.
UPDATE 19/12: Andrew Moore said his colleague Brett Sprigg was also in quarantine in his hotel room after getting tested for COVID-19 this morning. Moore said Sprigg “was in the wrong shopping centre (in Sydney) at the wrong time”. If the test came back negative, Sprigg would be back at the commentary box by tonight.
Unfortunately for Brett the game didn’t last long enough for him to return…
I think for the boxing day test, with the way it’s going no one from NSW will be allowed to vic
ABC Radio will be most affected because it means Jim Maxwell won’t be able to call the test at the MCG. The broadcaster will have to rely mostly on local callers like Matt Clinch, Alister Nicholson and Corbin Middlemas. Dirk Nannes and Kristen Beams will be available along with Alison Mitchell and Sunil Gavaskar.
