If people don’t have symptoms, what do you expect them to do?
Well I still know people who have got symptoms that aren’t getting tested. That is the issue.
This has been my point throughout the whole pandemic. The states keep going on about testing rates etc. Wanting them to be higher all the time but if you’re not sick, you’re not going to get tested. They still haven’t got that through their heads.
yes but don’t forget the states are still going on about the virus is out there, and there isn’t any flu or cold which is wrong and need people testing. I have had a cold twice already from wearing my mask and when it got moised that was the end for my nose and yes I do wash it once a week
I wash my mask every day.
Just once a week? I have about a dozen masks and wash them daily, in fact you shouldn’t reuse your mask.
Agree that is an issue but the low test number issue can be for a variety of factors.
these are reuseable cloth masks
Hopefully people weren’t turned away either. As I saw people still lining up at 7pm last night. Apparently there are people being deployed to SA to help with testing so this should avoid the huge lines.
You really should be washing it every time you use it. I think that is what he meant.
im going by the vic dhhs mask guidelines and they have stated to watch them once a week
That’s strange advice. Honestly I haven’t read the DHHS guidelines on masks but mine are all 3 layer resuable cloth masks as well and I wash them everyday - I have a little zip bag they go in and get tossed in the washing machine when we throw a load on every other day, having about a dozen masks means we don’t run out.
Oh really? On my masks it says to wash after every use. So that is what I have done. I have two masks so they normally dry before i need to wear it again.
ok i read that wrong. ddhs says to wash them after each use but the then health minister of vic jenny mikakos always most on twitter every wednesday that wednesday was masking washing day
It is such a new process so it is only natural to not always get it right. At least you are wearing the mask.
There’s a new pop up clinic set up near where I live with a massive line of people wearing masks, socially distancing and getting tested. Once again great to see.
Yeah I think people are starting to take things seriously here. A lot quicker than other states as well which is good. I don’t think people got on board this quickly at the start of the second wave in Victoria.
Let’s be honest, no one wants a repeat of what happened in Victoria over here in SA.
As I said before, if NSW can effectively control any small outbreaks like the one here in SA, there’s absolutely no reason why SA (or just about any other state/territory) can’t do the same.
Surely having seen what Victoria went through would encourage any state to want to never get into that situation.
I think this will be the case. This SA outbreak sounds very similar to the last Melbourne northern family cluster where a super cautious approach was taken and it didn’t explode. SA finding so many cases as quickly and then only 1 new case announced today makes me feel that they got onto it quickly.
All residents in the Aged Care home tested negative. One of the positives is being reviewed and is likely a false positive. So that seems like another positive for the current cluster in SA.
Well I do think that is what people here are scared of and why everyone is being so vigilant. I just wish the Government had realised this and made everyone working in hotel quarantine to test at least weekly before this current cluster. It could have been completely avoided with that sort of testing.
Fingers crossed you’re right.
