At least they let them go back home and not force them to pay for the quarantine.
Panic buying in a town south-east of Adelaide.
Nine News report. Toilet paper running out the doors.
I know this isnât about the outbreak does anyone know what happened to ShitAdelaide on Instagram? They always used to be the best place to go about this sort of news. But I unfollowed a while back because they got a bit too political for my liking and kept slamming Victoria. Just wanted to see their response to all this.
Us Melbourne people are like "whats all the fuss aboutâ?
The different headlines just astonishes me both posted at the same time:
The media continue to try and scare people.
Interesting suggestions from ABC but highlights the concerns in SA and the fact those working in hotel quarantine werenât being tested
But they just have?
And to be honest, its better than letting epidemics spread across borders and meaning us in Queensland have to face tougher restrictions too.
And that is the mentality that will see borders continue to close. Youâre no longer âAustralianâ youâre a âQueenslanderâ or a âVictorianâ and so on and so forth. There are many reasons for people to travel and the border restrictions are cruel and largely unnecessary.
Once again, there needs to be public service announcements stating COVID does not make you shit yourself, there is no need to hoard toilet paper.
Think itâs apparently been hacked or something.
Question. Victoria is currently testing and interviewing travellers returning by plan (at the airport) from Adelaide, but whats happing with people entering the state by car or train?
The Overland train service hasnât been running since South Australia first closed its border with Victoria in March, I believe.
South Australians can still drive freely to Victoria.
We hope to be able to continue operating two services a week in each direction from mid-December, with online bookings available soon.
- do believe it will be travelling again in December 14th*
One new case was recorded since yesterdayâs update.
Really good signs that they have got onto this early. Great news.
Only 3000 tests done in SA though. A little disappointing.
That should increase within the next few days as people become more anxious. Thatâs when weâll get a better picture.
Considering all the reported line ups I just thought it would be higher than that. Last week there were days with greater test numbers. But Steven Marshall has said they will update on numbers further later today. So maybe that number isnât accurate.
You would think the contacts and those most at risk would have been tested by now though, so itâs a good sign that most of those have probably been picked up now. Hopefully in the coming days a lot of people come forward and numbers stay low which will boost confidence that itâs not widespread. I feel like this has been a big overreaction by states closing borders so quickly and thereâs a good chance that this will fizz away in the coming days.
