A Melbourne GP on ABC News channel just now stating why GPs are refusing to sign-off on the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine for people under 60 years of age:
The Morrison government announced an indemnity scheme for GPs, but still hasnât implemented it.
Again, Morrison quickly announces but fails to deliver.
A lot of media has been critical of GPs that dont give AZ to under 60s, saying they are facilitating doctor shopping. But if they are not indemnified to go against ATAGI and the federal governments official position, its hard to blame them.
Brunei has its first locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in 15 months. 59 cases were reported yesterday.
Tasmania update: no new cases. Premier Peter Gutwein this morning announced a 4 point plan to shield the state from the Delta strain. It will focus on strengthening border processes, along with tracking and tracing, and will include a âvaccine blitzâ and a business support package.
This afternoon ABCâs Casey Briggs tweeted that a new record of more than 255,000 doses of COVID vaccines were administered yesterday.

Thought Iâd share this as itâs quite timely with this pandemic taking its toll on everyone- certainly evident with tempers flaring in these threads on a regular basis.
Probably important for us all to take a bit of a step back and remember that we are all human beings, all with unique situations and coping abilities and that a little bit of empathy and compassion can go a very long way.
