Iām trying to grow my hair so this is working fine for me
It will be interesting to see if today is the day Trump changes his tune. The fastest increasing infection rates are all in states critical to his re-election. Michigan, Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvnia and ohio all experiencing 25%+ increases in one day.
Until now he has been dismissive of the issue and critical of the actions taken by governors of the previously hardest hit (democrat) states; California, Washington and New York. All 3 seem to be stabilising now.
I couldnāt believe that only a few days ago he thought the crisis would be over by Easter (in reference to his comments about the churches being full then).
Maybe you donāt need to be that smart after all to be a multi-billionaire and the President of the worldās largest economy.
as the US races ahead of Italy and China to become the largest centre of coronavirus cases in the world.
The US is responsible for twice as many imported infections into Australia as any other country.
I think that is because Australians go to the USA more often than any other country.
The US still has significantly lower rate of infection per capita than Italy.
This is easy to say in hindsight. Clearly the situation was worse in the US than was reported back then. It seems like so many people that have come back to Aus and spread it came from the USA.
I would also like to point out, that 130 cases are currently in country Victoria. Iām also aware that there are around 10 people in the Ballarat region with the virus.
This is not a city virus, itās effecting everyone across the board. The same rules should apply between the metropolitan and country areas. Weāre all in this together.
As everyone knows, Iām a bit stupid.
Can someone explain what stage three lockdown will mean? Shopping centres? Will I be able to go for a jog?
Australiaās stage 3 shutdown would likely mirror the UK, where tougher restrictions were put in place to stop community transmission of the virus. All shops selling non-essential goods have been shut, schools closed and gatherings of more than two people banned.
If Australia followed their example, people would still be able to visit:
- Medical services: doctors, dentistsā¦
- Corner shops and newsagents
- Vet surgeries and pet shops
- Agricultural supply shops
- Dry cleaners and laundrettes
- Hardware shops
- Petrol stations
- Grocery stores
- Banks
- Pharmacies
- Post offices
- Car repair workshops
- Undertakers
- Food banks and shelters
Under a stage 3 shutdown, itās likely tradespeople could still operate in peopleās homes.
Theyād have to add bottle shops to that list.
Thereād be anarchy in the streets if we couldnāt drink our way through this.
Itād be un-Australian!
Take away food places is another place Iād add in.
In the UK, all Fast Food Restaurants / Take Away Stores and
Hardware Stores are closed I believe.
I think nobody can stop you going for a jog or a morning walk.
McDonaldās canāt close!
Theyāre still open according to a number of different sources. The thinking is that if something breaks down like toilet/taps, you will need to fix it ASAP.
Is has in the UK and New Zealand
They can and they are doing that in Europe and the UK.
I believe itās only open for Tradies. But many have closed around London.
If we follow the UK example - in a few days we could nearly be there without Government intervention given that businesses are deciding to close up
Crazily busy at my work, 14 weeks worth of sales in 1 week
Itās come to a point where stores may close this week as we do not have adequate stock to sell.
