Is there any press conferences scheduled for tonight?
A cabinet meeting is happening right now I think so Iād say so?
Maybe thereās a chance stage 3 could be announced tonight.
It would be odd considering he was positive suggesting the curve has started to flatten but domestic violence is being reported and googled more.
Thatās true, nobody would dare cross me on a powerwalk, but thatās beside the point.
I added aus.gov.au/whatsapp to my WhatsApp. I didnāt find it very useful. The case figures are out of date, and the process of using it where you type in numbers from a menu to get answers is like an old style SMS chat room. The website is better. Their WhatsApp page is almost pointless.
[Must resist making a butt-jokeā¦

I believe the saying is ānip it in the budā.
Itās not strictly punishment as that would be for those who are breaking the rules, but, like many other things, a few idiots (e.g. those violating their self-isolation orders, & others not complying with isolation rules,) result in things being more difficult for everyone else, despite the vast majority of people doing the right thing.
Itās like asking āWhy am I being punished by being delayed getting where Iām going for this RBT, when I donāt drink-drive?ā.
Unlike NZ, the Australian government havenāt provided a clear plan articulating what each stage means. We only find out what new restrictions are when they announce theyāre about to happen.
We probably be enforcing that sooner rather than later to be honest.
All shopping centres should shut period..Non essential and donāt need to be open.
Make sure you keep you distance from other people when you do.
most shopping centres include supermarkets, fresh food outlets and pharmacies which is probably enough to keep them open
Oh yes you are right. At the end of the day they should be open but not much else though. I just want prople to be safe and not get this thingā¦Iāve onlyust begun to realize how serious this virus is.
Thatās the biggest issue I think, people are only just realising how serious it is⦠but it takes up to 2 weeks before people know itās in an area so we wonāt know for another two weeks exactly where it is.
I did have a look at the Worldometer charts and thereās definitely been a slow down in the rates over the past few days and the curve is starting to flatten so hopefully the changes made last week will cause more of a positive effect, however it doesnāt take much for it to suddenly swing back the other way.
I would be surprised if that happens to be honest.
ScoMo has already pointed today out how the % increases have been dropping, initially the day to day increases were 25-30%, now they are 13-15% ⦠I think we are managing this okay so far without the need to impose further closures just yet⦠If however, they stay at 13-15% or go back up, which would mean daily increases of 500+ (when they are now 300-400 per day mostly), then they would need to adopt more dramatic measures like further closures and street patrols to enforce the new rules.
Plus with so many companies closing themselves without a stage 3 restrictions implemented, I believe we may be able to stay at the current levels of restrictions as more closures will happen organically. The stores that do stay open will keep people in a job reducing some of the strain on the welfare system.
PM to hold a press conference at 1830. Hopefully he cuts to the chase. No bullshit!
Nope⦠heās waffling on with platitudes as usual. Just get on with it and get to the main points.
Why in the evening conferences does he summarise the things already announced during the day? Itās infuriating.
Exactly, just get on with it so I can cook tea!
Not all of us were across what was announced during the day
Now they have that chief medical officer goose on. Heās actually never says anything. Heās always so vague. He has been a poor performer in all of this.
