And massage parlours will close. Physiotherapy which includes massage will continue.

Brothels were not mentioned, but surely they should be shutdown.

going back to my previous post my father and step mother are only 73

Thatā€™s considered elderly and a high risk group.

He mentioned ā€œadult entertainmentā€ which I assumed was a euphemism for brothels.

Are the Theme Parks on the Gold Coast closed?

Yes they have closed since yesterday - Dreamworld, Sea World, Movie World etc.

Why is it that Morrison gets up there and fails to communicate properly? Nothing ever makes logical sense with any of this. And that chief medical officer stands there and offers no insight at all. Weak and pathetic leadership that fuels anxiety.

The state premiers need to all be just doing their own concise conferences - especially when thereā€™s so much per-state detail, and lots of localised stimulus measures.

my parents are similar age and I am not visiting them even though none of us have anything remotely symptomatic. Theyā€™ve learned how to do Facetime for our regular catch ups

It was also announced during tonightā€™s press conference that open houses and house auctions would be banned from Thursday. If this is confirmed, the ban will have a huge impact on the real estate market across Australia. Real estate agents will have to rely on online auctions and virtual house displays to attract buyers.

May I ask how everyone is going with the process of making claims with Centrelink? Iā€™ve had to make a claim yesterday after losing work which is something I never thought I wouldā€™ve had to do in my life time. Just a side note I work in the media.

Regards to touching things which someone mentioned above, do not touch the buttons at the traffic light. The lights automatically change themselves for pedestrians also.

I donā€™t understand why you keep sounding surprised or outraged with every closure or restriction announced. Weā€™re heading for a lockdown as weā€™ve seen in other countries, where everything except for essential services will be a shut down for a period.

Itā€™s a huge impact on all those businesses and employees. Itā€™s obvious and we all know it but these extreme measures are necessary to control the spread.

Very sorry to hear this.

I assume you may be having trouble obtaining your CRN? (Customer Reference Number) This seems to be the most difficult step, once you complete this step (2-4 hour hold on the phone, be patient, you will get through) the steps afterward are mostly online and stress free. Best of luck.

Iā€™ve been pretty lucky as the NT has alot less people so the process has been quicker by physically going into Centrelink, but sitting at home all day yesterday reloading the website was a pain. I was able to properly complete the process without crashing at around 11pm NT time.

Now I have to wait for a call on Thursday, ugh.

Only in limited locations unfortuantly. Iā€™ve just been elbowing them or just crossing when itā€™s clear - which is relatively easy right now.

Really? Must be something we only have up here.

Yep. Theyā€™ve been rolling it out in parts of Sydney, but in Melbourne itā€™s just the main inner city grid that has it automatic.

Iā€™ve seen a lot more cases recently of no one being willing to press the button so a side road would go green and the pedestrian crossing wouldnā€™t go - despite people waiting on it. Normally thatā€™d happen now and again from people just assuming someone else pressed the button, but now itā€™s far more frequent so Iā€™d put it down to a worry about pressing it.

If the stores go to online processing rather than opening retail shops, then like we have been the last couple of days weā€™re in for a busy period. Seems as though a lot of online orders from Target have been processed through our facility up here.

I know Iā€™ve been using the edge of my phone or hiding my hand behind my shopping bag for some sort of protection.

Now to adjust the guesstimate ranges for where the cumulative figures would be at April 7 now that all figures are in for the day.
