It hasnât worked.
I think South Australia sent resources over to Victoria to help with this.
Now players and staff residing in the 30+ Melbourne suburbs must move out by midnight tonight.
So what about someone who lives in one of the lockdown postcodes but went into NSW last week; might they get fined on their way back home?
I hope the legislation/regulation has some sensible criteria to ensure it only applies to people who have left such an area after the declaration of the lockdown.

Speaking to The Project âs Lisa Wilkinson on Wednesday night, Mr Andrews said the testing refusal was âdisappointingâ when asked if it was time to make testing mandatory.
âI think there might be some people that donât have access to pay, whether it be sick pay or holiday pay. Their economic circumstances might be very uncertain and the notion of having two days away from work while you wait for your test result may be a big challenge.
âIf you make this too onerous and I know it is deeply tempting because I know it is deeply frustrating that certainly a large number of people are saying no, if you make it too onerous they simply wonât answer the door.â
It could be that the demographic who is less likely to get on board with social distancing and other preventative measures is significantly overlapping with the people who donât download the COVIDSafe appâŚ
With the 10 Postcodes now in lock-down (within the Melbourne metro area), I think it might be a good opportunity for country Victoria to lift some restrictions.
Vic Roads and the Department of Transport sent this email out last night to Victorianâs.
It could add to further confusions though. Might be best to wait a few weeks and see if the cases drop first. Remembering places like Daylesford were packed with tourists on the weekend.
I still think that information is confusing. They need to be specific with the exercise. People will think they can leave their suburb to go to the gym.
According to worldmeter, The United States has recorded more than 50,000 new cases in a day.
This rule is stupid. If people who live in these suburbs go to the city to see a movie, how will the government know? Itâs like putting a knife to their throat.
they have got police booze bus;s at every exit to the city from the hotspots
They can tell police they are going to work in the city. After they finish work they can go to see a movie and keep it secret.
Also they can take public transport which (in some cases) will take more time. I doubt the police will be at every train station, tram stop or bus stop in these suburbs checking people on their movements.
You are missing the point. The fact is we need the public to do the right thing. The enforcement is purely a means to try and make that happen. At the end of the day, we are in this mess due to the ill action of some individuals. Now, to get out of it people need to do the right thing. Everyone needs to stop trying to figure out whatâs fair and what isnât. Just donât be stupid for the next few weeks and hopefully it will turn around.
27,000 tests done yesterday for 77 cases. I donât think that is too bad at all.
Finally being reported, days after the rumours started swirling around.
And now tens of thousands of residents in areas which have low infection rates have been dragged into lockdown because they share the same postcode with one of the ten hotspots. How is this fair? I feel sorry for the law abiding people and businesses in these suburbs who are totally innocent, and for the four weeks cannot do things other Melbournians and businesses can do.
I think when the pandemic is over, there will be class action from small businesses against the Victorian Government to recoup financial losses they have suffered during the two lockdowns.
