Hopefully the last time any of us live through something like that ever again
No one in their wildest dreams would have predicted what was to come. Things that seemed unthinkable soon became reality.
It’s the four-year anniversary on this tweet from the World Health Organization. The record now shows that by mid January, the Chinese government had clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of COVID; and WHO’s compliant Tweet helped perpetuate China’s initial obfuscations pic.twitter.com/zO6GY3O57b

Yesterday was 4 years to the day since the first COVID case was detected in Australia. Little did we knew what was the come
Brett Sutton, who was Victoria’s chief health officer during the COVID pandemic, had been appointed to the Order of Australia “for distinguished service to the people of Victoria through public health administration and governance, and to medicine”.
4 years since COVID became a PHEOIC (Public Health Emergency of International Concern)
Can imagine this getting more media coverage next year and in 6 years time, when the 5/10 year anniversaries arrive, making it a little more significant.
Yeah probably still too soon for some people.
This made me laugh!
4 years ago today, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic. Soon after, the NBA season was shut down, Tom Hanks tested positive and by the next day, the F1 Australian Grand Prix was cancelled and then-PM Scott Morrison formed his first national cabinet meeting
Yep, everyone remembers this week. The week the world stood still.
There appears to be a big wave (I know we arent calling it that anymore) going through Sydney atm. I know of 4 different people who all visited recently, and all have returned home with Covid.
Really? I live in Sydney but don’t know anyone who has had it recently.
And I haven’t heard anything about COVID booster shots for this year, with winter fast approaching.
I haven’t had one since July, that was my 5th one.
Yup. My partner visited for one night for work - Covid. A friend went for one night for footy - Covid. Other friends attended Taylor from Perth - Covid.
Perhaps just coincidence but when one after the other kept updating with it…
It’s been 4 years today since we first went into lockdown.
All non-essential business were shut. West Coast Eagles def Melbourne at an Empty Optus Stadium in the last AFL game until June
It was definitely a very weird feeling/time, not being able to go anywhere or do all the things I’d taken for granted and seeing footy on TV played in empty stadiums.
