She was possibly weather presenter. Female newsreaders were still much of a rarity

But a decade later she was reading weekend news at TVQ10 in Brisbane

Good night for TV for fans of Tom Gleisner and Rob Sitch, who could watch them on A River Somewhere at 8pm on ABC-TV and again on Ten at 9.30pm with The Panel! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

“Hi, I’m Paul Clithero and welcome to Money. Something i don’t have to worry about because i’m bloody loaded.”

I tend to recall every show that he’d start with the welcome to Money, and the next 2 words that would usually always be heard was “You Know”.

Illawarra TV Guide (including some Sydney inserts mainly on WIN) - Thursday February 14, 2008

Rather odd how the guide for Prime listed “Prime News” at 6pm & “(Seven) News” at 6.30pm when the Illawarra station was and still is following the schedule of Seven Sydney during that hour?

We used to get those “Sydney” variations listed in the Newcastle TV guides into the late 90s or early 2000s I think.

Still on the subject of old TV guides from daily newspapers adjoining Sydney, I’ve just unearthed one from the Illawarra Mercury, dated Monday 7th February 2000.

A bit curious, but wasnt the 7 February the start of the ratings year for 2000?

It was the first Monday of the 2000 ratings year, as the ratings year officially started the day before on Sunday 6th February, which was when the 11th season of The Simpsons premiered on Ten from what I remember.

By 1986, SBS would abandon its broadcasts on VHF0 and become a sole UHF network even though SBS’s VHF license had been extended by a year and not everyone’s antenna worked well with Channel 0.
