I would have thought the TV channels supply the guides for free and they get it listed in the paper for free for all 5 networks since its literally advertising as pointed out above.

I’d think so too. But Australian television networks being Australian television networks, I’d probably say they would try and make them pay for what is essentially free content.
Following on my post in the ‘Regional TV History’ thread, here are some guides relating to the saga that was Prime Newcastle’s opportunities/attempts to screen the Jimmy Barnes ‘Soul Deep’ concert in March/April 1992.
1st option - take the feed from Seven when they first aired on Seven on Monday 9 March 1992. But no, Prime opted to hold back the concert for the local ratings period so aired a movie instead.
2nd option - was meant to air on Monday 6 April 1992. Would now then mean local viewers miss out on a Rod Stewart concert instead! No local simulcast of the Jimmy Barnes concert was planned though, Sydney and Melbourne both had it simulcast on Triple M and even Canberra as well on KIX106.
And finally! Success, after the outage on Monday night, it went to air in Newcastle only on Thurs 9 April 1992. Unusual to see ‘technical problems’ mentioned in a program description though. Canberra (and other Prime markets) got the ‘Crocodile Man’ and ‘Dame Edna’ specials that were aired on Seven.
Page One 8:30pm Thursdays on 10 in 1988. I believe it moved to 7:30 Mondays in 1989 before the 10 TV Australia brand being implemented
Did Prime reschedule the skipped shows, or were they never aired?
Don’t know for sure, but I imagine they got skipped. Probably got repeated eventually anyway .

Super Sunday of sport on both 7 and 9. 7 had Sunday arvo footy and of course on 9 it’s the Games of the XXXth Olympiad from London. Only a 2-hour highlight show called London Gold with no highlights of marquee events/finals during the day back then

GMV6 despite being from Shepparton was a de-facto 2nd TV channel for Albury in 1988. This was when AMV became Prime Television and took a Seven-heavy schedule including Seven Nightly News. GMV6 was the only place in the Border/North East region where you could catch National Nine News, Neighbours, Sale of the Century, Hey Hey It’s Saturday and other Nine and Ten programmes from 1988-92.

For some odd reason, SBS was given it’s own column for the week (as the guide I published was from a 7 day TV guide, so 2-8 Aug 1988 as below).
Looking at the Brisbane tv guide in the Courier Mail I noticed Nine had Live At Five at 5pm weekdays. If that program had of been successful, I wonder how WIN and SCA would have worked around that with Nine.
My thoughts were
^ a delay (either by a day or a week) OR
^ air WIN/Nine Local News at 4:30pm
^ produce a Nine Network quality half hour bulletin at 6 with WIN/Nine Local News at 6:30pm
^ drop WIN/Nine Local News to 9Go! Weekdays at 5:30pm permanently
In that day and age, probably just replace it with a repeat of ‘Happy Days’ (or something else) at 5pm and ‘Sale Of The Century’ at 5.30.
If you’re talking about if a ‘Live At Five’ was to air nowadays from 5-6pm, I imagine Nine would just create an opt-out at 5.30 during ‘Live At Five’ for WIN/Gold Coast viewers for them to go straight to Local News at 5.30.
