Just the head in to the Olympics in a few weeks, I would like to post an ABC comprehensive coverage of the 1986 Commonwealth Games that is being held in Edinburgh in Scotland. Some people would be so nostalgic for ABC coverage of the games that even got Rolf Harris commentating on the swimming for Australian audiences. This is the last Commonwealth Games to be televised by the ABC before Nine scored the exclusive rights to the Auckland 1990 games then the rights after that includes:

Victoria 1994: Ten
Kuala Lumpur 1998: Nine
Manchester 2002: Seven
Melbourne 2006: Nine
Delhi 2010: Ten
Glasgow 2014: Ten
Gold Coast 2018: Seven
Birmingham 2022: Seven

I still remembered watching that movie, Gone Fishin’. I found this film an OK film.
I also noticed that Sons and Daughters were put down as New Series, given that it was recorded in the 1980s.

WIN airing a local bulletin on a Sunday? Did other Nine affiliates do the same?

Yes, @greenpea. When WIN Television and Prime Television began in 1989 each regional station produced a half hour bulletin of local and regional news every weeknight (at 6pm). These were followed at 6.30pm by Seven Nightly News (from the studios of ATN-7 Sydney) and National Nine News (from the studios of TCN-9 Sydney). There was also a 5-10 minute local/regional bulletin on the weekends (5.50pm on Prime, 5.55pm on WIN) with the national news to follow at 6pm.

Today, 1:00 pm AEST will mark 27 years since the French Government announced to the world that Princess Diana was confirmed as dead, does anyone have Seven’s evening schedule for August 31 of 1997? Was it changed? I know Nine’s was as well as the 60 minutes episode.

Today’s TV: September 3, 2006, Perth
Source: The West Australian

On that day, Channel 9 broadcasted the penultimate match - Sydney Swans v Carlton (in which the Sydney Swans secured the Top 4 position with a 92 point demolition over Carlton Blues at the SCG). In my memory, it was Dwayne Russell who called the match from the SCG. I still remembered watching this match at home.
I noticed that Channel 9 broadcasted the Final AFL match, Collingwood v Kangaroos at the MCG in full, while on WIN WA they screened up to 2 hours instead of three hours. Perth was the only city to screen the AFL match in full due to the timezone difference. After the match finished, they went to The Final Siren (which was shown before the 6pm news). During The Final Siren SEgment, they screened the best of Round 22. I’m pretty sure that they have shown highlights of the 2006 Home and away season.
The day when Nine finished up broadcasting the AFL, it was game over. That would mean that Channel 10 would screen the 2006 AFL Finals Series, the Brownlow Medal and the GF.

Sorry my bad, I thought the news broke 11:45 pm AEST because West Australians were watching The Vice on Seven and Rove on 10 when the news broke Live to Australia.
