How long did the Today on Saturday last for? 1 year?

Also, worth noting Prime’s local programming throughout the day. Big investment then.

Reckon we could be seeing a similar delay for Swans/Giants matches in Sydney on Saturdays in the early part of the season from next year.

Difference is, that 1997 match was a Seven-produced game (if I’m not mistaken), whereas there’ll be no Saturday night matches on Seven until round 16 as part of the 2025-31 broadcasting contract.

Today on Saturday started in 1992. It was cancelled due to Nine’s budget cuts in 2002.

Yes NBN was Newcastle’s commercial TV Station. It subsequently became the Channel 9 affiliate and expanded all the way up to the Gold Coast.

Many years, it was a staple of Nine’s Saturday schedule, until it was axed due to budgetary constraints.

I didn’t know Cross Country aired on Seven, I thought it was always only on Prime.

Million Dollar Chance of a Lifetime. Originally hosted by Frank Warrick, he was replaced in 2000 by Sandy Roberts.

Was gonna say it appears to be from 1999. Obvs Sydney.

Problem was this was the weekend of industrial action at the height of the HSV/ATN network dramas, so instead a highlights package of the previous rounds were shown until vision from 2 Racecams (in car cameras) in Allan Grice and Glenn Seton’s cars were able to be beamed into Sydney were Mike Raymond and Neil Crompton commentated from.

Given live coverage of ATCC rounds wasn’t as ubiquitous as it became in the 90s and 00s, this would have been a significant blow

Wheel Of Fortune was rested, by that time, it was the end of an era for Adriana Xenides after 18 years as letter turner, then Sophie Falkiner starts Adriana’s replacement role when WOF returned to 5.30pm weekdays on Seven, by popular demand after a one month absence on June 28, 1999…

Or was Million Dollar Chance Of A Lifetime only ever intended as a short run series and only meant to last that long anyway?

Falkiner was on The Great Outdoors along with Adriana’s replacement during that era
