Quite a big heavy schedule of sports on WIN with the Cricket match between Australia and Bangladesh in TIO Stadium, Darwin. At 12pm, I noticed that WIN broadcasted the live AFL match between Geelong Cats and West Coast (at Skilled Stadium - in which West Coast suffered a blowout). After that, WIN broadcasted the 2nd session of the ODI match between Australia and Bangladesh. I remembered watching that ODI match on Nine that Mark Nicholas didn’t host the coverage. I wondered what happened to him. In the evening, TEN/WIN broadcasted the Carlton-Hawthorn game at Telstra Dome (in which Former Hawk Buddy Franklin kicked his 100th goal). Stephen Quartermain commentated the game.
Also on Seven, they broadcasted a live Rugby Union match between Springboks and Australia from Johannesburg.

Was that because he was still working in the UK at the time, given the extraordinarily early start time for that summer?

Anyone know anything about CCTV (8pm Ten)? Nothing on Google or anywhere. I don’t remember it

When did SBS start broadcasting for 24 hours?

Was it the late 2000s?

they did for a brief while after 9/11 perhaps given the potential for breaking/rolling news coverage from overseas, but soon reverted back to just shutdown/weatherwatch overnight. I can’t recall when they went back to 24/7 again.

I don’t know, either. Maybe “CC” was for Candid Camera?

I recall WeatherWatch broadcasting during the night in mid to late 2000s. Even when SBS2 came along (I believe) the two channels closed down over night.

Last Friday Night Footy on Nine

And to think the rugby league was delayed by seven (!) hours, with the Cowboys vs Eels NRL match finishing around 7:30pm AWST real-time - one hour before the Bulldogs vs Essendon AFL telecast began on Nine at 8:30pm; by which point that match had finished in real time.

The first full day following aggregation in SNSW/ACT. Interesting to see that WIN didn’t exactly follow suit with Nine, and Capital (CTC) also split from Ten in the evenings.

It also marked the new daytime line-up for Capital which up until the day before had still been showing Midday and Days Of Our Lives from Nine, with Santa Barbara at 11.00am and The Bold And The Beautiful at 2.30pm. This day marked Capital’s syncing its daytime line-up with Ten.
