I always found it odd they aired Shortcuts at 9:00 am after Saturday Disney, It’s something they probably should have aired at the end of the kid’s block at 11:30. It’s kind of jarring to go from that back to Disney shows
Maybe a contractual thing?
Could be
given it had a C classification there might have been limits on what time it aired, 11.30 might have been outside of the C zone. Given that Nine and Ten also had C-rated programs on at 9.00 I’d say it was a licence requirement.
Seven could never figure out how to do animated content like Ten did. They dropped the ball with Futurama and that wouldn’t find footing on FTA until Ten picked it up in 2005, KOTH like you said didn’t find footing on FTA until Seven used it as programming for school holidays. They did slightly better with the Seth McFarlane shows (Family Guy and American Dad) but even they got late prime-time slots.

I remembered watching some repeats of Rafferty’s Rules after I came home from school. During afternoon timeslots, Channel 7 inserted encores of Rafferty’s Rules as a filler.
Actually Seven purposely ran Aussie repeats in that slot for a number of years, it wasn’t really “filler”. They ran a repeat run of most or all of Blue Heelers in that slot too.
