Nine had the Survivor franchise when it launched

Channel 10 didn’t have their news due to live AFL match between the Sydney swans and the West Coast Eagles. In Regional WA, WIN viewers didn’t have the news until 11:50pm (being simulcast via STW9). I didn’t know why WIN viewers miss out on Before the Game, which simply backfired the ratings.
I found some partial footage of The Simpsons Extravaganza here:

Surprised that the ONE HD brand still existed when Lachlan Murdoch axed ONE as a sports channel because it was a real threat to FOX. George Negus current affairs was shown during 10:30pm as a repeat.
Hungry Beast was underrated, felt like ABC were trying to find their next Chaser but it never really caught on.
Going by posts from the mid-2010s ONE kept a surprisingly heavy sports lineup for quite a while after it was killed as a 24/7 sports channel in May 2011. It slowly died as they lost various rights over the next few years.
IIRC the One brand continued right up until it became 10 Boss Bold under the broader Ten re-brand in 2018
Yeah, They kept ONE as the name until they re-branded to 10 Boss after the CBS purchase. I don’t see why they should have had to change the name after the 24/7 sports channel given the channels at the time were ONE, TEN, ELEVEN

I noticed that there was a 90 minute Home And away being shown on Thursday Nights.
That time, Bec Maddern has recently joined The Footy Show edition (I just don’t know why did Bec leave Seven to head to Nine).
I can’t believe we’re at the point where 2016 can be considered “classic”.
Was that why they stopped sport? I always assumed it was that rights were too expensive.
I was under the impression it was down to money as well. Even back then I am fairly sure 10 wasn’t in the best financial position. Plus they were also losing the AFL rights that year and that was the big draw for ONE and without it I don’t think US and European sports were going to be enough to keep a 24/7 sports channel going on FTA and I say this as someone who loved having NBA, NFL, MLB and their limited Football coverage.
ONE had lots of niche sports which didn’t rate well at all hence why they changed the format of the channel
The promise of new opportunities, helped with a generous . Hard to knock that back!

I get the impression about Channel 10 having statewide weekend news bulletins (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth). I would have thought that was a good idea to try and revitalise the network but unfortunately, the TEN News Revolution was a joke. Back in early 2011, Channel 10 want to move the news at 6pm to help compete against Seven and Nine. Ten wanted to rate well and become more competitive, but unfortunately this simply failed. Therefore, they had the 5pm news coming from Sydney (but still retaining the 6pm local news on 10). When Ten replaced the Simpsons with the local weekend news, this was the start of the end for TEN News. What are the ratings like for 5pm and 6pm news on 10 during the weekend?
