The Empire Strikes Back on Ten during election coverage. A good alternative aired that night.

I noticed that Ten perth had the IPL T20 shown on a Monday morning until 7am, while in WIN WA they had the coverage through to 8:15am. Today SHow was truncated down to 45 minutes in Regional WA. I beleived that CHannel 10 had delayed IPL coverage. This might have been a backlash where they miss out on Early News.

I noticed that Big Brother was shortened to just 15 minutes on WIN during late night which was very strange. This saw ratings tumble when shunted to late night.

Surely they would have run the whole 30-minute program, just pushed back the NRL. I am not sure if there was a contractual requirement for the NRL to be scheduled to start by midnight.

They likely would have aired it with no ads, or perhaps cut away from the AFL coverage early - WIN WA had some really weird playout quirks during the dual affiliation days.

It’s not likely that ratings were even getting recorded - in 2005 Regional WA only had ratings recorded a few weeks of the year through manual diaries, people meters had not yet been introduced to this market.

They may have played the full BB, and ticked the contract off by scheduling the NRL pre-midnight: if it happened to be delayed, then that’s just unfortunate :man_shrugging:.

I noticed that Channel WIN showed The Ellen DeGeneres Show at 9am, while Kerri ANne was shown at midday on WIN. I just don’t know why WIN WA had to alternate the morning schedules during 2008.

How great are the old line ups…. All shows starting on time. No odd starting times. Even Big Brother stayed within its 30 minute time frame.

even as late as 2004 i can remember Channel 10 being in love with The Simpsons not only was there a point where we had "All Time Greatest Simpsons at 7, but 2003 we had “Simpsons Extravaganza” which was about 5 or 6 episodes (including Life on the Fast Lane from season 1 which was NEVER on 10 at that stage!) hosted by Jade and Ryan from Cheez TV I’d love to see Simpsons Extravaganza again if anyone has it?

Jade & Ryan hosted a few Simpsons things like that in the early-00s didn’t they? But yes it was very rare for 10 to play anything from Season 1 after the early-90s.
