Classic TV Listings

I miss the days when 7 would air King of the Hill during school holidays.

The TV Week Appreciation Page on Facebook has posted a week of programs from Tasmania and Melbourne from this week in 1986. Interesting to see that while Tas TV was largely uniform between North and South, there were instances of different movies being shown at certain times and a lot of series were showing different episodes between the two halves of the state which seemed a bit odd. I was surprised at the number of times they split movies/episodes and pretty much expected them to be in simulcast all day.

Seems a bit odd to do that a week before Christmas, although maybe that was intentional to get the new format bedded in before the real battle begins in the new year?

They did it every summer as an alternative to the usual early bulletins during daylight saving, but for some reason the networks seemed to go off the idea by the early 1980s.

An interesting arrangement with the screening of WIN News in Toowoomba. I think this was also around the time when the QTV brand was about to be ditched in favour of Ten Queensland.

I think you’re right, IIRC the change to Ten Queensland was early in 1993.
