Right-wing targeted video. Gross.
When the new CBS Evening News kicks off on Monday, we promise to live by these five simple principles – from our very first show on the road, to our first broadcast on the new set in New York, and every one after that.

A news bulletin pledging transparancy and independence from its corporate owner is now considered ‘right wing’ and ‘gross’? ![]()
Saying one thing and it actually happening are two very different things. You don’t need many more than two brain cells to see there’s been an ideological clear out to align it with the current regime. If this was happening in any other country there would be lots of tut tutting going on.
Watching Tony live on Paramount+. He’s very good. Still using old graphics (I think) and no real view of a set yet.
I think the graphics will debut on Monday 5th of Jan
I don’t think he’s broadcasting from regular studio either.
Archive dot org has the special bulletin if Youtube or P+ are unavailable to you.
The articles said it came out of the KPIX studios, but probably not the VR set since they just finshed the 5pm local news beforehand.
Also I don’t think we’ve seen this shoulder graphic in NY before?
He is green and extremely out of focus.
Do we think this is an attempt to show how they will cover Trump? They are copping it online prior to and since the “we work for you” video.
Personally I don’t see why the need of him coming in 2 days early was needed?
Major news story - a lot of switch on probably so it’s good advertising more than anything.
Unsure on the advertising to be honest, let alone the fact that it’s using the old branding and seeing him just sit there in a locked off shot was pretty lame in my opinion.
Just seemed unnecessary to me.
I think it just sets him up as their face of breaking/major news - similar to getting in Overton etc in Sydney when the time comes.
That’s what US evening news anchors have been responsible for anyway.
Other than the timeframe under the breakfast shows’ supervision.
If it was up to me, I’d have him just hosting a Special Report with no CBSEN branding.
Yes - but he is starting a new role so not recognised as their face as news yet, so why not put him front and centre even if it’s not his night.
For oh so many reasons, I hate this new CBS News regime, but this move makes complete sense. He’s new to the evening news slot, so get him in front of viewers when everyone is switching onto the news.
Do we know who is replacing Tony on CBS Mornings?
There’s been no announcement or nothing, and the socials all still mention Tony. I’d say they might be going with just Gayle and Nate for a little while untill she decides if she’s leaving or not when her contract is up.
