I wouldn’t put much stock in Google using something as a thumbnail… quite a few mocks from the old TV Forum have been used as Google thumbnails at one time or another.
Having said that I suppose it’s not unrealistic that CBS might have decided to go for a new look after Norah O’Donnell steps down.
Just to expand on this. It’s an interesting look they are going for if true. Not a fan of the font, I see maybe they are trying to do the NBC legacy kind of look, but it doesn’t gel with the logo IMO
The circular ring with the orange at the bottom could be a nice little tweak depending on the bulletin. Have the orange for Evening. Dark for Late night, pale orange at the top for early / morning news etc

Yeah, from what I recall she joined in mid-2008 and started on air either very late in '08 or very early in '09. I think she was hired as a replacement for Hugh Riminton.
It does look great, but I can’t imagine Candice Wyatt in front of something like that delivering stories about Carlton managers dick pics. Local news is a bit different.
