Interesting. A day before Carols By Candlelight.
Wouldnât mind predicting the possibility of Rhonda Burchmore being a performer on Carols in the Domain (at the ICC) 2020, given the fact that todayâs edition of The Morning Show had a bit about how she was again overlooked for a position on Carols By Candlelight.
Woolworths Carols in the Domain
The stars of the Seven Networkâs The Morning Show, Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur, are honoured to co-host the 2020 Woolworths Carols in the Domain .
The 38th Carols in the Domain will this year be held at the Aware Super Theatre in a special made-for-television event to be broadcast on Channel 7 and 7plus on Wednesday, 23 December from 7.30pm.
The hosts of Australiaâs #1 morning television program will be joined by Carolsâ best-ever chorus of performers to âhang a shining starâ and celebrate Australiaâs most-loved Christmas tradition, with special appearances from the jolly big man himself, Santa Claus, and family favourites The Wiggles and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Carols viewers will be treated to an exclusive performance from one of the worldâs biggest-selling artists of all time, while Home and Away star Penny McNamee will take to the stage for her fourth Carols as a solo performer to sing some of her favourite classics.
Kylie said: âItâs the most wonderful time of the year! I know theyâre the lyrics to a Christmas carol, but it seems appropriate to quote it. Now, more than ever, we realise the value of being together, of giving thanks and being in the moment. Carols is the perfect chance to celebrate that â whether youâre at the event or tucked up on the couch with your kids or loved ones.â
Larry added: âThis is exactly what we need right now. Itâs been such a complicated and trying year for so many families. Weâre thrilled to be part of this wonderful tradition, the sole purpose of which is to spread love and happiness.â
Other artists confirmed to perform on the 2020 Woolworths Carols in the Domain stage so far include:

Be sure to pick up a copy of New Idea â the official print partner of the 2020 Woolworths Carols in
the Domain â on shelves from Monday, 14 December. The issue includes the official event guide
featuring a free carols songbook and exclusive interviews with the hosts and performers.
Oh no, what will Carols in the Domain be without Kochie and the absolutely dreadful outfits heâs worn during the last few years!
In all seriousness though, a good choice has been made in getting Kylie & Larry to co-present CITD. But like Livinia Nixon on the Nine equivalent, this is really something that shouldâve happened years ago!
Probably via video link and shown on a big screen at the theatre.
Iâm genuinely surprised this isnât going to be another event that Sonia Kruger is hosting for 7.
Kylie and Larry deserve the primetime gig!
Seven is giving away family passes to the filming of Carols in the Domain at Aware Super Theatre later this month. To enter, be watching Seven News Sydney at 6pm for nightly code word and enter via the link below for your chance to win.
Glad that Larry and Kylie are hosting the Carols this year. Its been a while since they have been in primetime. Is this the first time they are hosting together outside of The Morning Show?
At least its not Sonia âEverywhereâ Krugar. And the Sunrise team has been overused at the Carols over the years.
How can you forget Celebrity Splash?!
More performers have been added to this yearâs event:
- Shannon Noll
- the Australian cast of Frozen the Musical
- Samantha Jade
- Australian theatre stars and childhood friends Ashleigh Rubenach and Stephen Madsen
- Robbie Williams (exclusive performance from UK)
- 13-year-old Annie Jones who performed on this season of Americaâs Got Talent

Due to the COVID-19 cluster in Sydneyâs Northern Beaches, the show will be filmed tonight and tomorrow without an audience. The following statement was issued at 5pm today on the Carols social media.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close off access to the public for the performance of Woolworths Carols in the Domain at the Aware Super Theatre on Friday 18th December and Saturday 19th December. The show will go ahead and will be broadcast on Channel 7 and 7plus on Wednesday, 23 December from 7.30pm for everyoneâs enjoyment.
This decision has been made in light of the recent escalation of COVID19 cases in the greater Sydney area. While we understand this will be frustrating for many members of the public, we felt that this was the right decision to make in the interests of public health and safety.
All purchased tickets will receive a full refund.
Tickets purchased by credit or debit card will be refunded in full (including ticket insurance premium and refundable ticket purchase, if relevant) and patrons do not need to take any action. Patrons should allow approximately 20 working days for the refund to appear in their account.
I wonder could the show have gone ahead with a crowd if it was held at The Domain like last year?
The Christmas bags that were due to be sold outside the venue will be available at Salvos stores around Sydney this weekend.
I think the answer would have been no.
Iâm honestly surprised Carols in the Domain is even still going ahead without a crowdâŚ
Maybe it shouldâve been remained to Carols at Aware Super Theatre.
Very sensible. The right thing to do.
But such a big blow to the Salvos Iâm guessing. This âsmallâ outbreak (letâs not blow it out of proportion say Gladys, Scomo and Josh) is really hurting people across the board.
I reckon Larry and Kylie will use the broadcast to urge viewers to donate through the Salvation Army website.
Kylie is now in QLD. Has it already been filmed?
