Not in the ugly radio surround I think it’s nowhere near as bad as it looks in the usage on GNFM, indeed I’d almost say it’s fine.

How come they don’t get the little aerial at the top of their logo like the others do?

Is it because of their sandy soil and they need a bigger antenna elsewhere?

It doesn’t look too bad without the stupid black radio bubble. I’d leave it as is.

Perhaps someone from the network read this thread & decided on a variation.
Will be interesting to see what logo or variant transpires for XLFM.

Simple with a modern font, a bit of style & uniqueness often works.
For me the 6IX logo is an improvement on the latest for GNFM.

Though I wonder if the difference between the 6IX logo & GN FM’s logo
with the bubble & whip antenna is CRN’s way of defining a difference
between a AM & FM station. Whilst 6IX is on both broadcast bands, perhaps it’s still mainly considered a AM station (with a couple of infill FM relays).
Time will tell I guess..

not great but not as bad as the earlier version we’d seen which had so much text crammed into the oval shape and the dicky antenna sticking out.

The use of black and gold/yellow reminds me of Black and Gold home brand supermarket products. Low quality, poor man pays twice.

It seems that Forever Classic 60s and Forever Classic 70s have changed name to 60s Music and 70s Music respectively (well, actually “60’s Music” and “70’s Music” but I refuse to acknowledge the misused apostrophe).

I first noticed the change in the name displayed on Canberra DAB and Goulburn FM RDS a few weeks back but didn’t think anything of it until I happened to tune in the other day and heard the stations being identified by the new very generic names. Apparently I was listening to “Canberra’s 60s Music” and (sarcasm) I found myself marveling at how many of the big hits of the 60s came from Canberra. I had no idea Canberra was such a music powerhouse (/sarcasm)

I’ve tuned in more since then and haven’t heard a single reference to “Forever Classic”. I wonder why? The Forever Classic name is a good identifiable brand name. Maybe Capital Radio hope to syndicate the stations to operators in other markets, and they think a more generic name might help?

The website (yes, there is one) still calls them Forever Classic, but there are logos in the same style as the other FC stations on the Digital Radio Plus site that call them 60s Music/70s Music.

Interesting move and makes sense if they want to launch them into other markets. I must admit, the 70s station is very good.

Yet to see other Capital stations get the facelift.

Looks nice.

I like their “Music Selector” form, wish there was a way to see what everyone else picked!

Looks nice, but no mention of DAB+ in the logo? For a station that struggles with both its AM and FM reception, you’d think they’d promote that as well as Online options.

I don’t remember if it’s been mentioned in here before or not, but I’m on my way down to Melbourne for work & passed through Goulburn today, & I don’t know if it’s normal this way or they have issues, but 107.7 GNFM is only in glorious FM Mono & didn’t sound much different to what I remember it sounding like on AM & what 2CA Canberra currently sounds like.

It wasn’t anything to do with the mess that’s Goulburn FM I tuned in a bit early heading South & when I got to that point, Triple M Gosford faded away & GNFM came in, I thought I was still too far away & couldn’t get Stereo due to a weak signal, but nope, never got it in Stereo the entire time, even when driving past the bottom of the hill looking up at the transmitter site, Eagle FM was in Stereo, by the time I got to the South side of Goulburn just past the Big Ram I thought what’s the point so tuned into 2CA.

Its normally stereo, must just be a temporary glitch.

It sort of sounded stereo, separation wasn’t standout noticeable with the music they were playing & the road noise, so initially I never thought it wasn’t, but my radio in the car has a stereo indicator & I noticed after a while it wasn’t on, then as I listened more intently I could tell it was mono, as it sounded much like 2CA but with more top end (highs).

@anon71206228 GN Fm was in stereo up to the 10th of August when I noticed it was broadcasting in mono. It was in stereo on Friday 8th when I passed through on the way to the snow.

I wonder why the turned off their stereo pilot. If I lived in Goulburn I would have rung them and complained.

Noticed looking at the 2CC website prompted by their horrible ratings - noticed they have an alternate much better logo behind the profile photos:

I assume whoever made this didn’t meet the network brief of making the worst designs known to man so they were shelved…

Interesting times ahead. I wonder what will happen to XL/Snow (and by extension, GN/Eagle) as they are Blyton babies. As the article mentions he was very hands on with the businesses he owned in the Monaro.
