Capital Radio Network

Zero chance. Nowhere near similar enough.

Yes, 88 is 70s Music and 97.5 is 60s Music.

100.7 in Goulburn is also a narrowcast and is 60s Music.

All branded as Forever Classic 60s/70s.

It’s just an ugly logo that’s going back to 1990s could have done much better.

Yes. LPON’s & HPONs in Queanbeyan & Goulburn.

With no ‘Forever Classic’ in the narrowcast station’s logos, (60’s & 70’s stations) will the “Forever Classic” be dropped from the on air slogan branding or is the ‘Forever Classic’ text just being dropped from the logos to simplify them?

Thanks - I thought they were narrowcasts of all sorts.

Last I looked the management had a cap in hand and were having a chat with a bloke named Kyle….:rofl::rofl:

Really wish they kept the 2 in the name. 2GN-FM sounded alright. Ditto 2XL-FM.

I think all have been unofficially using a similar black and yellow logo since December, but it was only on socials and i think GN put it on their website.

Would sound even better without the FM, eg 107.7 2GN, or 96.1 2XL.

Not similar enough to trigger a legal threat, perhaps, but certainly very heavily “inspired” by Gold Network. Same colour scheme, same angled text, not dissimilar shape.

The Gold network ones should never have been done, why would you be inspired to “copy” them, these are IMO seriously bad & like has been said a few posts up Heinous.

Why just why, the 2CA one isn’t too bad, but the G & the M on the GNFM one go over off the edge of the black background into nothingness, especially with a white background (outside the black) on a digital backlit web page/screen such as this one, the edges of those letters can be hard to see, FFS make the black background a little larger to fit it all on at least.

The old ones were just fine, I liked them & they suited the “Forever Classic” network, I suppose you could say the logos were forever classic, they weren’t broken & didn’t need updating, so why do it?

I mocked something up ages ago based on their My Perth Digital logo, which clearly showed they could make something work that was modern and fitting the network,

The letters coming off the bubble logo is the exact same how the letters come off the new GOLD Network logos.

Complete copycats. Black, yellow & fonts over the edge.

If this were to stand in court I’m sure they’d agree it’s a copy.

Yes, but maybe they were done by the same graphics company & they own the IP for the design not either network, I highly doubt either were done in-house.

Really? Let’s pass this over to our fellow MediaSpy colleagues and correspondents…

I certainly have to agree with you all on this, indeed the new logos are just cheap-arse knock-offs of ARN’s Gold Network. Call it the Temu Gold Network. The only difference being an oval-sorta shape with a radio antenna sticking out. Apart from that, it’s just (as mentioned before) a Temu Gold Network.

Time for CRN to be taken to court I say. That or they need to revert back to their previous logos that were and WILL always remain Forever Classic. If they want to avoid a costly lawsuit then they’re gonna have to act ASAP, or otherwise ARN’s gonna be coming for them.

Are you qualified to give legal advice? :grimacing:

Thats an insult to Temu. I doubt they’d want to be associated with ARN or Capital.

Of course they are, they went to Holltwood Upstairs Legal School.

If the paper turns clear, it’s your window to weight gain!

This reminds me of the Coast FM 963/The Breeze logos.
