Capital Radio Network

How do you sustain 2 brekkie announcers that play back-to-back songs?

Fair enough if it was a solo jock.

I’ve just noticed on their website & Facebook page that GNFM in Goulburn have changed their logo. They’re also no longer taking networked talkback in the mornings since Ray Hadley’s retirement.

Unsure if XLFM in the Snowy Mountains have followed suit (their Facebook page hasn’t been updated since last March! :flushed:).

oh my… I much preferred the old logo… that one looks rather… plain…

Looks like something you’d see on a road sign.

Well, Goulburn is on the Deadly Hume after all.

Yeah, it’s crap. But befitting of the safe music format nowadays.

They need another road sign… For better music, take the Federal Hwy turn off and follow the signs to Braidwood

Sort of looks to me like a bland version of the Gold 101.7 logo, I didn’t think you could get much more uninspiring than the new Gold network logos, but yet here we are.

False advertising. You need Spotify or Youtube Music for that.

It looks like that GNFM logo has been in place since December 2024.

Mind you, what about their schedule? They’ve got one announcer hosting 4-10pm weekdays. Would you call it Drive/Evenings/Nights?

Overdrive would be a good name for it.

Slavedriving.

Yes much like the Super Radio Network, the internet isn’t Capital’s thing. Their websites and socials have been spotty for years.

That said though, Nova, Hit and Triple M’s websites now are essentially just landing pages. There’s almost no info on them anymore.

XLFM seems to be taking a bit of everyone from the network lately. Macca Dixon doing afternoons at the moment.

Is this what you were looking for, @WAtvVideos? This is all I could find.

No, they’ve made newer ones. See the DAB Plus or CRA websites.

Those apostrophes on “60s” and “70s” …

There’s just one word for this. Heinous.

Literally chaining your entire brand to broadcast radio in the digital era is a crime against branding. The old logos were just fine, these are fugly.

Waiting for the ARN buyout so they’re ready and raring to go…

I swear, this rebrand is just a Temu version of ARN’s Gold Network. A complete knock-off of sorts.

I can smell a lawsuit from ARN being on the cards.

Does ARN have the money?

I’d argue Nine could buy 2CC to have a station in the nation’s capital. But that’s just me.

Back to the article though…I note this:

6iX, GNFM and XLFM are soon to change, and the new FM and DAB 60’s and 70’s stations in Canberra, Perth and Goulburn

As in 6IX, GNFM and XLFM will have new names AND logos, or just the logos will change.

Who is Goulburn’s 88FM and Canberra’s 97.5FM? Call be slow, but are they narrowcasts?
